To whom it may concern,
My name is Anthony Pennock and I graduated in May 2015 from the Robert B. Miller College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Learning Disabilities. I heard of your need for a High School Special Education teaching position on Applitrak and discussed my interest with a Human Resources administrator. I am currently employed under contract as an Elementary Special Education teacher at Lillian Fletcher Elementary School in Homer, MI for the 2015-2016 academic school year. However, due to budget concerns, my district may be reducing staff. Throughout the 2014-15 academic school year, I successfully completed my elementary internship in first grade with Patty Warren at Riverside Elementary School from September 2014 December 2014, and my elementary special education internship in K-5 resource with Kim Roy at LaMora Park Elementary School from January 2015 March 2015. I then completed of my final internship, high school special education, with Bonnie Bierwagen at Battle Creek Central High School on May 8, 2015, which began in March 2015. Since completing my internships and becoming certified, I acquired a long-term substitute teaching position at Battle Creek Central High School as a 9 th grade special education teacher to the end of the 2014-2015 school year in place of a teacher who took an early retirement. Following the 2014-2015 school year, I was selected to teach for Battle Creek Public Schools 21st Century Summer School program between July and August 2015. I am very interested in the opportunity to work for your school district. The Lakeview Schools has supported my education since my pre-internship placements with varying settings across all grade levels and disciplines. I have grown to enjoy the staff at every building I come across and have begun to develop lasting professional connections with a number of district employees. Ultimately, my decision to apply to your district has rested with my passion to reach all students and help them see the potential in themselves to be as successful as they want, and should, be. With a background in mathematics, music, and the theatrical arts, I feel I can bring unique and creative teaching strategies to your district to assist in your mission of being the best school district in Southwest Michigan. The generation we are faced with is one of technology and impatience, and I hope to use my talents, skills, and background to help your students to become some of the most creative and successful students. I ask that you keep my resume and information on current file and I will stay in contact with you to confirm the receipt of this application.
