OBJECTIVE
The student will demonstrate how to properly throw a football by pointing
their non- throwing shoulder towards the target, stepping with opposite
foot, bringing the ball behind their ear, and following through to opposite
pocket.
The student will demonstrate how to properly catch a football by forming a
diamond with their hands when catching above the waist and pinkies
together when catching below the waist.
The student will demonstrate the knowledge of how to run a designed
route in open space during throwing and catching activities.
The student will be able to measure how much force to use when throwing
to a receiver.
The student will use good sportsmanship and words of encouragement to
peers during football activities.

Transition:
Freeze! When I say go, I want
everybody to help pick up the
equipment and place it over in
the corner of the gym and line
up on the white line facing me.
Activity/Task Catch 3:
Half of the class will be placed
on one side of the gym and the
other half be placed on the
other side. Students will be
separated into 2 teams and will
be given two different colored
pinnies. They will be spread out
all over the court. Teachers will
demonstrate the rules. Explain
that the students should work
on moving in the open spaces
on the court and spread out. For
the 4th and 5th grade class, the
game will consist of new rules
that include scoring in an end
zone.
Rules for 3rd grade:
-One team will start with the
ball.
-To begin there will be one ball in
play but another ball may be
added to the game later on.
-Students must complete 3
consecutive passes to
teammates without dropping
the ball or having it intercepted.
-After the 3rd pass is completed,
the student who caught it will
run over to the whiteboard and
mark a point for their team.
-Once the team makes 3
consecutive passes it goes to
