Anticipatory Set Students will view a video about Paul Cezanne and some images of
his artwork.
Procedures

Students will participate in anticipatory set

Students will have a discussion about Cezannes paintings


o What do the paintings have in common?
o What is different about them?
o Common theme is apples

Students will assist with the distribution of materials

Students will write their name on their paper

Instructor will demonstrate how to draw the apples in a bowl

Instructor will walk students through the drawing

Students will draw their own pattern in the background

Students will use crayons to color a portion of their apples and of their pattern

Students will assist with gathering supplies

Students will put materials back where they belong

Day 2

Students will enter the room quietly

Students will review what they did last class

Students will assist with the distribution of supplies

Students will learn about wax resist

Instructor will demonstrate and define wax resist

Students will paint their drawings

Students will place their paintings on the drying rack when they are finished
