I have already received positive feedback from parents and students in regards to the class
website that I have developed. Parents have expressed interest and appreciation of the
website as a means of keeping up to date with their childs school activities.
- Parents want a clear understanding of expectations for their childs assignments
- Parents need ongoing and timely communication in regard to any areas of concern
- Students need to know that parents and teachers are working together to enhance
their learning both in school and at home.

*Note: Teachers are encouraged to consider parental and student input to inform their professional
learning and teaching practice. This is not a mandatory component.

Other Comments (Teacher)

As a new member of the community of Atikokan, I am still exploring ways that my students will be able to
learn from and contribute to the community. Over the course of the semester I am interested in
developing more project- based learning opportunities for the students, and seeing how my
planning can be tweaked to maximize student engagement and community involvement. As the
semester progresses I intend to touch base with as many industries and community resources as
possible to allow students multiple and varied opportunities to become active members in their
community.
