Chapter Reflection

Summary

This chapter mainly focused on the key issues facing schools and teachers. It addressed the
first learning outcomes that result from the implementation of technology in an educational
setting. This chapter as well identified and as well as explored many of the legal issues relating
to technology implementation. It soon addressed the second learning outcome; key legal issues
which are associated with technology integration. It identified and detailed critical social issues
which result from technology integration. Digital bridges where used to solve this issue. It
introduced the third outcome: determining key social issues that educators face. This chapter as
well talked about the ethical issues. The fourth outcome was analyzing the key ethical issues that
educators face. The last thing that this chapter talks about is the challenges and opportunities that
are introduced in schools from technology implementation. It also introduced the final and fifth
learning outcome which was the opportunities and challenges that educators face when
addressing social and ethical issues.

Reflection
I firmly believe with this chapter. Privacy is a controversial issue in the digital age.
Schools SHOULD have an obligation to ensure the students safety. When people or students use
the internet it is required to keep close tabs with this person or student so monitor the things that
they are doing on social media or on the network. Online social interaction helps a lot. It is a
great way to develop social skills as well as communication skills. However, there are many bad
things and challenges that could occur. One example would be cyber bullying. Since there is
cyber bullying happening, schools have to be on constant alert and must always be monitoring
the students activities on the computer.
