HUMAN BODY SYSTEMS PROJECT

Objectives:
Students will be able to name the human body systems and their
functions.
Students will be able to identify the organs and structural parts present
in each system
(i.e. circulatory: heart, arteries, veins, and capillaries).
Students will be able to describe the basic structure of the major
organs in each system.
Students will enhance their research skills
Requirements:
You will work in groups of 2 or 3 to research the body system which you believe is
most important, create a visual aid and research a potential health risk associated
with that body system (1 per group member). Research may be included on the
visual aid or handed in separately through a brief report on Google Classroom.
What to research for your assigned body system:
Information should include more than what is in the in class notes.
o List and explain the functions of the organ system.
o Identify the major organs and their functions.
o Describe the basic structure of the major organs in the
body system
(i.e. lungs: bronchi, bronchioles, and alveoli).
o Each member must describe a disease associated with
their body system.

Description of disease/mode of action
o Description as to why you think this system is the most
important

Visual Aid:
This is your chance to be creative.
o Can be an outline of the body with organs in the correct
place
o Could be a travel brochure/ride pamphlet
o Could be created digitally
o Any other ideas are welcome but should be checked with
me first
