September 11, 2001 Interview

The World Trade Center had two planes smashed into the walls of the
structure, which resulted in multitudes of damage including the loss of lives and the
United States safety/invincibility mentality.
On Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists orchestrated an attack on American soil at the
World Trade Center in Manhattan, NY. The Islamic extremist group known as AlQaeda, hijacked four U.S. airplanes and carried out terroristic acts of war on the
United States of America. Only two planes flew into the World Trade Center in New
York City.
The other two planes were directed towards other locations. One of the
planes crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, DC. The other plane that Al-Qaeda
hijacked crashed in Somerset, PA. This attack on the United States triggered what is
known as today as the War on Terrorism.
Wayne Hawks went into detail of the events in depth of what happened on
Sept. 11, 2001. He could explain what he was doing and what his train of thought
was like.
When the first tower hit, we all couldnt believe what happened. Our boss
came in and made us all stop working and to go home and see our loved ones. Half
the men I worked with didnt even know what was going on.
Then we turned the TV On and only sat and watched as the second plane
slammed into the next tower. All of our hearts just dropped. Wayne stated.

A couple of my closest friends ran to their vehicles on the race home as if
there was a chance they would never see their families again. Panic arose all around
town. He said.
Wayne then explained how the world changed since the attack and if he feels
the United States acted heroically or idiotically with the War on Terrorism.
Personally at the time I was all for the immediate decision to start the War
on Terrorism. Innocent lives were lost that today. American lives to be more specific.
So of course my anger coursing through my veins was more delegated at
the fact that my home was attacked.
Our defense has been modified since then obviously. You have all these
complaints of how much they can check you and search your bags and their
methods, but if you truly look back to that day does it really matter is my question?
I want everyone that I know and love to be safe. As does everyone.
Im fine with that fact because of the way my life is today. None of my
liberties have been stripped since the advancement of defense and surveillance, he
said.
