Transition: That was a good story hey? What

are bad qualities of a friend? What are good
qualities of being a friend? How did the
characters act as good friends? Today we are

[2:40]

going to do a science experiment about

sharing, plants, water and friendship! Where
do you guys think plants get their food/water
from? Well we are going to find out! We are
going to take a flower and give him two
different colors to drink from and then
tomorrow we are going to observe (look at)
our flower and see if we can tell where it go
its water from. So we need to fill out our
science observation page, Make sure your name
goes on it and you color in each cup with the
colors you and your partner chooses. When we
go back to our tables I am looking for the
quietest most polite group. When I say
Friendship I want you all back at your tables,
Family, Pets, Community, Friendship!
As the students work on their observation
sheets follow along on the projector

2: Flower Activity: Hand out observation sheets.

You will each get a cup, I need to you carefully
write your name along the cup, I am going to fill
up the cup with just a little bit of water, and you
guys will partner up with the person to your left.
Make sure that they choose a different color
then you do. I will come around with food
coloring and drop two drops of whatever color
you have chosen into your water. Make sure you
color in your worksheet with the matching
colors. Make a hypothesis about how the flower
will drink. We will set the flowers inside our cups
and then we will set them all aside and check on
our flowers tomorrow. When you are done I
want all observation sheets back to me for
safekeeping.
Transition: Once students finish up their sheets
they can work on their My Best Friend Booklet
3: Friendship Bracelets Work Sheet
As students finish up their observation sheets
hand out bracelet sheets. Have students color
each bracelet and cut them out. Teach them
how to fold and glue the ends together to make
