Script Analysis of Entourage Season 2 Episode 11- Blue Balls

Lagoon
1. Exposition: During the beginning of Entourage, Vincent Chase is excited about Mandy
Moore breaking up with her boyfriend. Our exposition starts with us learning about
Vincents relationship with Mandy Moore. We learn in the beginning of the episode that
Vincent Chase used to be together with Mandy before. Vincent came close to marrying
Mandy, but their relationship fell flat before they eloped. The other exposition lies within
the subplot with Johnny Drama. Johnny Drama, Vincent Chases older brother,
convinces the guys that he can get Brooke Shields to fall for him. Brooke and Johnny
were pulled in to film a scene together and Johnny is consumed with his idea that he can
get together with Brooke Shields. Salvatore Assante, formerly known as Turtle, works
with Johnny Drama to practice his scene with Brooke Shields. Eric Murphy, Vincent
Chases best friend and manager, works to keep Vincent out of trouble with the public so
he stays focused for filming Aquaman.

2. Point of Attack: The point of attack occurs when Vince finds out Mandy Moore dumped
her boyfriend Chris. With Mandy being single, Vince becomes excited about her birthday
coming up soon. That event where Mandy starts hanging around with Vince sets the
scene for setbacks that occur during their relationship. Vince and Mandy getting together
sparks the events leading into the larger story of his receding friendship with Turtle,

Johnny Drama, and Eric Murphy. In a bigger point, the relationship threatens Eric
Murphys manager role with Vincent Chase, as well as their friendship.

3. Inciting Incident: Within the episode, the inciting incident on Entourage is when the
press brings out Vince and Mandys relationship out toward the public. Vince and Eric
receive an earful from their publicist Shauna and Vinces agent Ari Gold. Shauna and Ari
Gold warn Vince that the magazine spread on his relationship could damage his
reputation as an actor. The spread on page six could hinder relationships with the
Aquaman crew because they could be convinced that Vince does not have his head in the
game. Eric Murphy is upset about the magazine article because he thinks Mandy Moore
is distracting Vince from completing his job.

4. Complication: For Mandy Moores birthday, Vincent Chase wants to give her something
special for her party at The Geisha House. While talking with Ari Gold in the office,
Vince eyes a Robert Nitsch painting Ari Gold has hung up on the wall. Ari Gold gives it
away as a gift to Vince for working on Aquaman. Vince shows the painting to Eric, who
tells his girlfriend Sloan during dinner. The complication arises during Erics dinner date
with Sloan where she reveals that Aris Nitsch painting was a fake. Sloan also reveals
that Aris real painting is hanging up at his house and he has multiple fake artworks lying
around the office. Complications arise at the point where Eric Murphy finds out that
Vincent Chase took a false Robert Nitsch painting, causing the new discoveries to occur.

5. Discoveries: After Eric finds out the Robert Nitsch painting was a fake, he confronts Ari
Gold in his office. Eric discovers that the Robert Nitsch painting was a fake, leaving Ari
feeling shaky about the incident. Before leaving the office, Eric says he would reveal the
fake painting to Aris wife, which would lead to serious consequences in their marriage.
We also learn that Eric is not on good terms with Vincent because of Vinces relationship

with Mandy Moore. Ultimately, Vince un-invites his best friend/manager from the party
at The Geisha House. Ari Gold is left with the decision to find the real Robert Nitsch
painting to give to Vince for Mandy Moores birthday party.

6. Reversals: Being left in hot water, Ari Gold treks to his house quickly.

At his house, Ari

takes the real Robert Nitsch painting hanging on the living room. While at home, his
wife discovers him taking the painting. Ari tells his wife that he is borrowing it for
business purposes and he would give it back eventually. Eric must bring the real painting
over to Mandy Moores birthday party to make up with Vince.

7. Climax: After the battle with Ari Gold, Eric receives the real Robert Nitsch painting for
the birthday party. Johnny Drama did get his scene with Brooke Shields, but he failed to
get Brooke Shields to notice him. In fact, Johnny Drama creates tension with her coworker Brooke Shields. While filming scenes for his acting role, Johnny Drama felt up
Brooke Shields. Brooke Shields pushed away from Drama, feeling uncomfortable
because Johnny Drama felt excited while hugging her.
8. Resolution: Vince, Turtle, and Johnny Drama are at The Geisha House celebrating

Mandy Moores birthday. Johnny Drama is drowning his sorrows in red wine for being
fired from his acting job. Drama was fired because of his disconnection with Brooke
Shields during the job. Eric Murphy shows up at the party with the Robert Nitsch
painting, resolving his fight with Vincent Chase and being re-invited to the party. With
Eric and Vince best friends again, the boys join Mandy to celebrate her birthday party. At
the dinner table, Mandy opens up the Robert Nitsch painting. Mandy Moore becomes
shocked and excited about the painting, thanking the boys for attending her special
birthday party. Vincent Chase and his entourage celebrate Mandy Moores birthday,
enjoying dinner at The Geisha House.
