BY M EG A N NEELY

Why adopt from a shelter?

They need our help
Decreasing dog overpopulation
Ending the actions of puppy mills

Why do we need you?

Because they need us.
If you adopt from a shelter,
You will save a life.

A Puppy Mill is
A mass-breeding facility of dogs that puts all priority on profit,
instead of the well-being of the dog. The dogs are not treated as
animals, but instead, as objects to earn money.

Only 26 states have laws

regulating commercial kennels.
There are over 10,000 puppy mills in
the United States.
4,000 are licensed to operate.
Some states breeding revenue reaches over $40
million in a year.
Pet stores sell over 500,000 puppies
in a year.
