Mission Statement: Our mission is to be an embracing natural setting where people with

disabilities and the community gather for Christ-centered fellowship, treatment, housing
and meaningful work.
1. Description: Benjamin's Hope is a first of its kind community model designed to address the
multifaceted needs of individuals and families affected by autism and developmental disability. It is
a vibrant, interactive community where people with extraordinary needs realize a future of meaning,
security, and hope. There are 4 areas that Benjamins Hope focuses on. They are Live, Work, Play,
and Worship! The worship services are said to be Radically Inclusive. NO SHUSH!!
2. Eligibilities: Must be 18 or older. There must be substantial evidence that the individual applying
to be a resident of Bens Hope is incapable of caring for themselves without assisted living. All men
and women who choose to live at Bens Hope have a primary diagnosis of a developmental
disability.
3. Funding: The men and women that live at Bens Hope are funded by Medicaid. In our county it is
called community living support. Families do not pay anything. The entire infrastructure is raised
through private giving. Allows us to use public funding more appropriately.
4. How can we, as future special education teachers, use this agency to help our
students with disabilities in the high school setting?
Benjamins Hope is an extremely inclusive environment with opportunities for anyone in the
community to participate. Benjamins Hope provides volunteer opportunities and tours for schools,
churches, and other groups. Benjamins Hope also provides tours for schools to give insight to
students who have never been exposed to a group home setting before.
