Teaching Methods
In this course students will read, write and discuss topics related to journalism,
culture, and current events from selected materials. This will be student-centered
learning experience: students participation will be essential since this will not be a
lecture class, rather a workshop where we try to apply the skills of journalism
to the articles we read and write. Homework will consist largely of an extensive
reading project where you will read and reflect on the current news. In lieu of
exams or tests, students will be evaluated on their portfolio of articles that they
write and edit throughout the semester.
Evaluation
Students are expected to attend all classes, read assigned materials on time, and
participate in class discussions and activities.
