I am doing research on architecture and building design because I am
considering this as a career. I think this field of work is creative in the way
that you can make your artistic visions a reality. This is really appealing to
me and is why I want to pursue this as a career. Architects need good
writing skills for presentations and when pitching an idea or design to a client
or other member of their design team. It is important that they do this
because if the design isnt right then the entire project is ruined and the
client is unhappy.

The article Basis of Design discusses what a BOD is and its role in
designing a building without misunderstandings. The article starts by
defining the BOD as something that keeps track of the thought processes
and assumptions to accomplish the requirements of the project. Throughout
the article the function of the BOD is made clear and has examples of its
benefits.

The authors of this article are Briones, Vince, and Dave Mcfarlane and
was published to Ashrae Journal. The Ashrae Journal is an academic journal
that contains information on industry news about things like new technology
and new products which would be helpful for those just starting in the
architectural field. This is an academic journal about the important things
required to successfully complete your architectural goals and projects using
real experiences theyve had while on the job making it relatable to those
who are new to architecture. What Ive learned from this article is that there
are many important aspects of being an architect that involve reading and
writing. For example keeping a thorough BOD by keeping record of thought
processes and assumptions can reduce confusion and misunderstandings
that can happen while working on a project.

This article is about the new building for the Museo de Arte Moderno
that has finally been finished after six years. The building was designed by
the Lima-based firm 51-1 and the Colombian firm Ctrl-G, who in 2009 won
the competition to design the museums new building. The new building is
made up of a series of boxes piled one on top of the other, the unique design
has many different functions such as letting natural light in.

article for Abitare magazine. This article was published on the Abitare
website so it is accessible to the general public so anyone whos interested
can read it. The article gives the historical background of the museum and
its new design. The author uses Kairos to inform the reader of the museums
history and cultural importance. The use of this technique makes it easier to
understand the significance of the opening of the new building. This article
has made me realize the importance of being able to communicate to people
outside of the profession. Not all clients are able to understand the lingo and
terminology used by architects so its important to be able to communicate
the idea to the client.

In this journal they discus building information and adapting it for
markets across the world such as translating units of measure. It also
discusses taking measures such as drafting to prevent mistakes made by
even talented engineers.

which contains useful information for those keeping up with news about the
architectural industry. Ashrae also has multiple academic journals with

This has effected how important I feel writing and learning is in the
field of architecture. I now realize how important it is for successfully
completing projects with worldwide markets. This Journal has taught me how
vital it is to communicate with other markets across the globe and the
importance of being able to adapt my writing techniques and style to fit the
market Im working with.

This is an interview of Robert Peterson that discusses the requirements
and skills that one needs to be a successful architect and the importance of
reading and writing in this field. The interview gives examples of what life is
like as an architect, like what the job is like on a daily basis, the most
stressful and enjoyable parts.
Robert Peterson has been an architect for many years and knows firsthand all of the little things that go into being an architect. The experience
he has in the architectural field allows him to give advice to aspiring students
who want to learn more about this field. He gives specific examples of what
you might run in to as an architect such as the stresses that come with the
job and how to cope with it.

This interview changed how I thought about the importance of writing

and reading in this field because it had clear explanations of the type of
writing and reading that is essential for this kind of job.

Wikipedia which is known for not being a reliable source of information
because anyone can go onto the website and edit whatever they want. The
audience for this article would be people who are looking for a quick answer
and do not want to do any deeper research on a subject. The article uses
Kairos to make the reader think about the future of the architecture business
and to make the article give off the impression that it is an in-trend article
that has information on what new things are going on in the architectural
world.
This article is important because it has effected the way I think people
get their information about architecture. It it is important that people should
look to official sites to find information about architecture and the
architecture business. People should make sure to find sources that

accurately inform those interested in what is going on in this field so the

readers do not get inaccurate information.
I have learned the importance of having good reading and writing skills
in architecture when it comes to explaining the idea of a project to those not
in the architectural field and communicating your ideas to others working on
a project. I would like to learn about more specific times when writing is
used in the architectural field and see specific examples.
