I am a graduating student of Norquest College to gain a diploma as a licensed practical nurse. I
will be granted my temporary license to practice by March 2016. I am very passionate in my
field of work and have the utmost desire to care for people in a holistic way. I believe that
through the application of the nursing skills that I have learned, I will be able to contribute well
to your facilitys health care team. This will also allow me to further refine my skills to become
an effective and efficient nurse overall.
Through my experience in the clinical field, coupled with the knowledge that I have acquired
academically from the Practical Nurse Program., I have developed a certain set of skills. These
skills allow me to recognize a patients needs and apply the nursing process when necessary. I
was also a fully trained nurse from my country with actual hands on experience in a variety of
settings (mental and surgical, community, obstetrics, mental health, and pediatric nursing).
I take all the work that I do seriously and do it within the scope of practice for my profession. I
am also a team player, being able to work well with the different members of the health care
team. I am confident that the combination of my skills and experience will enable to provide care
with high standards towards a variety of patients.
