My definition of a hero is someone who did or does something not for themselves but for
the benefit of others. A hero today can be anyone from a person helping their community to a
soldier protecting their country. Some may argue that a soldier cant be heroes because they
themselves are performing evil acts like killing others. But my definition of a hero follows the
saying the ends justify the means. Meaning even if the hero performs evil actions if it is for
the greater good he still deserves to be classified as a hero. My definition of a hero was shaped
from one of my favorite fictional characters. This character started a rebellion against his own
family who controls the world government that rules over every country. He gathers a resistance
group under a secret identity and kill his family members in the world government while
exposing the governments corruption. After killing all of his family he becomes the ruler of the
world government with the intentions of oppressing everyone and captures his own resistance
and sentence them to death. The character then arranges his closest friend to take over his secret
identity and to kill him and use his resistance to establish a new government. The story ends with
the death of the character dying before his resistance group is killed. In this story the main
character was seen by the public to be evil by both his comrades and to the world only his friend
who is sworn to secrecy knows what he did. A person in history who reminds me of my favorite
fictional character was Hitler. Hitler caused many atrocities but the German people still believed
and followed him. Unlike my favorite character, Hitler did not reform a world government but
they were both viewed to be evil to the world.

Hitler was the leader of the Nazi party in Germany up till World War 2. After serving in
World War 1 Hitler became involved in politics. Hitler was imprisoned for 5 years in the early
1920s for trying to take over the German government with force. During this time Hitler
developed his communistic ideas. This was because Hitler believed that his plans failed because
his colleagues had betrayed him in the last minute. After being released Hitler was convinced
that Germany needed one leader and he himself was fitted to be the dictator of Germany. Hitler
was against all forms of communism and wanted to save Germany from it. Hitler believed that
communism was being brought into Germany by the jewish people and believed that the jewish
people would destroy Germany. He believed that the german people was the master race and in
order to keep Germany strong the jews had no place. Hitler also believed that the disabled was a
waste of resources.

For the German people, Hitler was viewed as a hero. After World War 1 Germany had no
money and had to pay off debts from the world war. The German people had no money and was
starving the German bank who controlled the distribution of money had inflated their currency to
the point of it being worthless. Hitler implemented a new form of currency under the Nazi
government the new currency was inflation free and was called Reichsmark. By implementing a
new currency hitler was able to reestablish Germany economy back into a stable position. After
the economy was stable hitler started to improve Germany's infrastructure. By opening jobs to
fix buildings and roads, Hitler was able to solve the Germany's unemployment in 2 years. Lastly,
Hitler was seen to be a hero by funding research into free energy for the german people. Hitler
wanted to remove any dependencies on international products for germany. Hitler wanted a never

ending supply of energy that was not monopolized by people but would be freely distributed to
the german people by the government.

After Word War 1 and World War 2 hitler was seen to be a hero to a broken Germany.
Hitler rebuilt the german economy and opened up many jobs solving unemployment. Hitler had
a vision in making a strong german state. Hitler's intention was to make a utopian society that
favored all aryan people. Although his actions only favored the German people hitler can be
viewed as a hero to the germans during the era. Hitler's actions challenges what a hero truly
means. Hitler's worked favored a group of people over another one group idolizes him and
another loathes him. Hitlers actions are similar to a soldier, a soldier is seen as a hero to his
country but an enemy to another.
