TASK 1: Define each of the following roles
Interviewer
An interviewer is the person asking the questions in an interview, they obtain
information on a specific subject by using appropriate questions and asking the
guest/interviewee in order to get the right information.
Which part of the studio do they work in? (i.e. control room, studio floor)
Interviewers do work in the studio, but they can also do interviews on-location. This
can be where the interviewee is or somewhere that is related to the discussed
subject.
What skills do they need to do their job well?
Interviewers need to have good speaking skills, because theyll be talking
continuously to the interviewer and they need to be able to say a sentence with ease
(in order to look professional). They also need to appear welcoming to the
interviewee/guest so that they feel comfortable enough to speak more This will
mean the interviewer will obtain more information from them.
Director
The director organises and guides the production crew, in order to achieve the ideal
outcome. The director plans out the whole thing before its filmed, organises the crew
and equipment, and books the studio/location etc.
Directors have to ensure that everything runs smoothly and on time, otherwise things
can get out of hand.
