Our last major assignment was the visual argument, which was the continuation

of the written argument. For this assignment I had to make a visual representation on the
situation I was arguing in the form of a poster series. The purpose of this assignment was
to create a visual which conveyed the problem and topic of the written argument and
provide the audience with a solution.
I personally feel that I accomplished the purpose of the assignment. I created the
visual arguments to support my claims and appeal to the rhetorical strategy, pathos. I used
color to give the audience the sense of sadness and show them how unfortunate food
waste in schools is. I also made the resolution poster short and to the point. I wanted the
message directed to the parents of the students and used bright colors and pictures of
vegetables to show the importance of good nutrition and how it leads to better grades.
When doing this assignment, I learned how to use Photoshop and learned how to
use technology to show the importance of food waste caused by schools and the simple
action that parents have to take to improve their childs health and education. I feel that I
learned another way to discuss issues and I would definitely take the skills I learned from
this assignment and apply it to the rest of my colligate career. I also learned how to
visually appeal to pathos, which I can use when making posters. I can use this skill to my
advantage when making claims later on in my collegiate career.
