SOUTH SCARLE PARISH MEETING Minutes of Parish Meeting Wednesday 18" April 2015 4. Minutes of Last Meeting ‘The minutes of the meeting held on the 28" January, 2015 were approved. Proposed Roger Clay, Seconded Jean Ashley 4, Matters Arising From Previous Meeting ‘Community Service - the clerk reported that he had been in touch with the Community Payback Service, Nottinghamshire, Following a small number of suggestions received at the last meeting 2 meeting is awaited with the service coordinator to see the suitability of the projects suggested Action: Clerk 5. Correspondence Ground Maintenance ~ a new 3 year contract has been awarded to AEB Landscapes of Collingham following a tender exercise carried out during March 6. Transfer of the Stewardship of St. Helena’s Churchyard from the PCC to the Parish Meeting ‘The clerk reported that he had received a formal request from the East Trent Group of Churches and specifically from the PCC responsible for St. Helena’s to formally close the Churchyard to all future burials and transfer the upkeep to the Village. The clerk explained that there were essentially two options as the request was valid under the Local Authority Act and they were (a) refuse the request and force the District Council take responsibilty or b) accept the transfer and take on the additional maintenance and liablity for the churchyard and its boundaries. Following a debate amongst the meeting members it was decided to undertake an opinion survey of the whole village rather than decide at this meeting. The outcome of the survey would then be debated when a formal vote on the direction to be taken would be made once the PCC had received confirmation of the closure from the Ministry of Justice in London Action: Clerk 7. Other Items The chair reminded the meeting of the forthcoming Defibrillator training by East Midlands Ambulance to be held on the 21* May in the Community Centre. Both District Councillors, Mr. Mel Shaw and Mr. Richard Shillto announced their intention to retire post the forthcoming District Council elections this May. Both have served the ‘community of Collingham and Meering for far more years than they would care to reflect. ‘The meeting warmly thanked them both for their help and assistance on many matters cover the years and wished them both well in their retirements. ‘The meeting was closed by the Chair at 7.36pm oan ZANT
