see. (If the activity takes place during computer day, teacher may have each kid log

to practice reading the lengths of different lines on a ruler.
Lesson/Activity
o Students will work in groups to complete a chart that presents measurement of
different objects around the room. They will locate an object that matches the
particular measurement on the sheet.
o Students will complete a worksheet that names/shows different objects around the
room, and will scavenge around the room to first choose the appropriate tool, then
measure the objects.
o Students will partake in a Scoot activity working with partners. Different lengths
of tape will be on different stations around the room. The pair will measure the
length of the tape in centimeters and in inches.
Application
o Students complete teacher-made worksheet on base ten blocks and three-digit
numbers.
o Students will create a graphic organizer to show different objects, the best tool to
measure, and actual measurement.
o Students complete math interactive journal pages 1-7.
