Instructions:

Making the Bed:

1. Place fabric RST. Place the fabric on top of the 2 layers of batting and pin.

2. Sew around the four sides leaving a 10 opening at the center of one of the shorter sides. Clip corners.
3. Flip bed right side out by pulling fabric through the opening.
4. Press points out and lightly press the edges.

5. Draw lines across the top of the bed, perpendicular to the long side, every 5 for the small bed, every 6 for the
medium bed and every 7 for the large bed. You should have 6 columns for any size bed.
6. Starting with the column farthest away from the opening, sew along that line and reinforcing at the ends,
leaving a 6 opening in the center for the small bed, an 8 opening in the center for the medium bed and a 10
opening in the center for the large bed. Fill the column with fiberfill, making sure to put the fiberfill between
the two layers of batting. NOTE: You can fill the column as much or as little as you like. However, the more you
fill, the harder it will be to sew the column closed.
7. Sew the column opening closed, reinforcing at each end. NOTE: When sewing the columns closed, use either a
walking foot or a zipper foot.

8. Repeat Steps 6-7 until each column is stuffed and closed, including the last column.

Making the Strap and Handle:

1. Place one Strap piece right side up. Take another Strap piece and place it right side down perpendicularly,
overlapping them by and pin.
2. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner.
3. Sew along that line. Trim above the seam and press open.
4. Repeat Steps 1-3 one more time so that both of the Strap pieces are stitched together.

5.
6.
7.
8.

With Strap wrong side up, press both long sides towards the middle.
Fold in half lengthwise and press.
Sew a scant catching both folds.
Sew a scant on the other side to mirror the seam in Step 3.

9. Roll up the bed and measure the circumference. Cut 2 pieces of the Strap 2 longer than the circumference.
Use a zigzag stitch to finish the ends of both Straps.
10. Sew Velcro on either end of both Straps, making sure that one loop piece and one hook piece are on opposite
sides of each Strap.

11. Use the rest of the Strap to make the Handle. NOTE: You can make the Handle long like a shoulder strap or short
like a hand carry strap. Use a zigzag stitch to finish the ends. Sew each end of the Handle to the middle of each
Strap using a box stitch.

And, were done! Throw the bed on the ground and Fido will soon be dreaming of chasing squirrels and yummy
treats.
