When you explore the world during a marine adventure, it͛s exciting and easy to experience new
cultures at your own leisure. You must, however, protect yourself and your crew from unexpected
emergencies, illness and injury when planning your vacation. By purchasing marine crew health
insurance prior to departure, you can insure that you and your crew will be protected.

If you are a US citizen, you may not receive coverage when travelling abroad from the same insurance
plan that covers you when you are in the US. Additionally, government-sponsored coverage for non-US
citizens travelling outside of their home country may not offer enough protection. When you travel
within your pre-selected coverage area, you will be protected if you purchase an international yacht
crew plan.

Coverage for these plans is typically divided into two regions: Worldwide coverage that includes the US
and Canada, and coverage that does not include the US and Canada. When you purchase health
insurance for yacht crews, benefits include coverage for hospital stays, emergency care and prescription
costs.

The plans offer a wide range of deductible options, starting at $250 per insured person and up to $5000.
Each person can expect a limit of $5,000,000 per insured person͛s lifetime. Coverage for high cost
services, such as emergency medical evacuation, maternity care, and other similar services can also be
included in marine crew insurance plans.

Members are eligible for wellness coverage, depending on the plan that is selected, after one
continuous year of marine crew health insurance. Members under 19 years of age can visit the doctor
for $50 per visit with wellness benefits, while members who are least 30 years old can receive up to
$250 in coverage. Routine doctor visits and medical services are the intended use of wellness benefits.

When signing up for yacht crew insurance, it͛s important to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions.
Pre-existing conditions include any illness, injury or mental health disorder or chronic condition you
have prior to submitting the application. Not disclosing these conditions up front can result in a denial
of benefits should you seek treatment for them after submitting your application.

Outside of medical coverage, there are often additional benefits available with these types of plans.
Assistance with legal service referrals, tracking lost baggage and emergency cash transfers are often
included in these benefits.

Before you leave on your marine vacation, be sure that you are prepared with a yacht crew insurance
plan. The value that is received from these plans for those who are travelling outside of their home
country is well-worth the cost of the plan.
