1. FDR- Loved Campaigning Crowds cheered him

a. If FDR elected- Destroy American free enterprise and American
system of govt.
C. The Results
1. FDR won by a landslide.
2. Democrats also won majority in the house and senate.
3. Brain Trust
a. FDRs informal group of advisors.
b. Had the important job of making policy during this time.
D. The Lame Duck Period
1. FDR- Elected in early November; took office in early March (4 th).
2. In the time between November and March, the current President is
known as a lame duck (Hoover).
3. 20th Amendment- Changed oath of office to January 20.
The Dust Bowl
1. Dust bowl grips the Midwest.
2. Drought cripple farms; many go out of business and seek employment
elsewhere.
