BULLDOGS
WHY I CHOSE THE DALEY MENS
BASKETBALL PROGRAM
The reason I chose Daley Mens Basketball program was because coming out of high school,
my grade point average did not meet the standards to attend a university.
A friend of mine knew the assistant coach Shawn Monroe, who
assisted with my transition into Daley College.

I loved my time as a student athlete at Daley. It was the beginning

of the program so the atmosphere and energy from the staff as well
as the students was incredible! Coach Collins had high
expectations from everyone as a student first as well as on the
court to jump start the program in the right direction.
I chose a junior college because I had personal problems in high
school which held me back from getting a division I scholarship.
However, God works in mysterious ways and it turned out to be
the best thing that happened in my life. As far as basketball it
helped me tremendously, it allowed me to mature as a man behind
the knowledge of Collins. I learned more about myself as a person
and how deep I can dig within to accomplish something I wanted.
He [Collins] pushed me to limits I never been to which allowed me
to become an All-American for Daley. With the same mentally, I
was able to accomplish more success at Robert Morris and become
a two- time 1st team All-American as well as National player of
the year.

I credit Daley College; the work ethic I developed allowed me to

take my game to another level. Now I'm going to play professional
ball overseas, this is a dream of mine to play pro ball!
The advice I have is simple, only when the effort is true and honest
will you be called champions. If you're going to attend Daley you
have to give it your all and actually understand that Collins won't
accept anything less! So if you want to learn and become better
there's no other City College in Chicago better than Daley, but you
must to be willing to go through the hard work and dedicate
yourself as a student as well as an athlete.

I had a great time at Daley. At first I didn't know what to expect being
that it was a small campus. I met good people as well as great
teammates and I wouldn't trade my time there. I chose to attend junior
college because my other plans fell through. I had numerous
opportunities from schools including a couple division one institutions,
but things like coaching changes at those schools prevented me from
going so I chose the Juco route.
I chose to be a student-athlete at Daley because Ive always played
sports and this was an opportunity to do so. Also, Coach Collins was a
2010-11, 2011-12 MCAC Regular
reason I came.
I think if he wasn't there I would not have chosen Daley.
Season and Tournament
I think that was the biggest reason. As for basketball, it prepared me to
Champions
be able to handle any coach. I got through Collins so it was an easy

to the next

Academically,
it made it easier to handle an
