13: music video directors task

Hype Williams
Hype Williams is an American film director/music video director. Hype was
born in queens, new York, USA. Hypes first known displayed work was by
tagging places e.g. playgrounds, local billboards.
Hypes Williams had a signature style called fisheye lens which distorted
the camera view around the centre if focus. Hypes signature style fisheye
lens was used in most of his videos like gimme some more by busta
rhymes. This signature was dropped by 2003 and replaced by birds eye
view shots and tracking shots which switched between moving backwards
and forwards, you could see this in the music video Not myself tonight by
Christina Aguilera. This type of style let hype create a dynamic and multidimensional static camera angles.
Hype Williams tends to work in the hiphop genre of music because the
type of style he uses and the artists he tends to work with. Hypes
dynamic and multi-dimensional shot taking is good a representing the
good life of a hiphop artist, you can see this in the song gold digger by
Kanye west.
I feel that hype is conventional with the videos that he makes because
hype has been working in the hiphop area since he started up so, that
means he loves working in that type of genre and those types of videos
mean something to him.
Hype Williams doesnt just work for one artist. He likes to try and work for
all artists in the hiphop genre. Hype did work with busta rhymes producing
sixteen music videos for him but hype does try to work with other artists
of the hiphop genre.
The dynamic, multi-dimensional and atmospheric style of filming makes a
hype Williams video different to all the other directors.
