Classroom Management Plan

Outline
Alison Feickert

Overall Philosophy of Classroom Management:

As the teacher, I feel it is my responsibility to shape student behavior. Children need
consistent expectations that should be established early. The learning environment
should be a safe place. It is the responsibility of the teacher to create an
environment where students feel safe to share their opinions, and ask questions.
The teacher needs to understand when they need to adjust their management style
and when expectations their daily approach to management need to charge.

Specific Classroom Practices Planned to Create a Productive and Positive

Classroom:
Classroom practices can create a productive and positive classroom. It is my
responsibility to ensure students are productive and everyone is positive in the
classroom. This creates a good classroom environment.
1. Plan classroom procedures and rules carefully and in detail.
2. Systematically teach students procedures and expected behaviors.
3. Monitor student work and behavior closely.
4. Deal with inappropriate behavior quickly and consistently.
5. Organize instruction to maximize student task engagement and success.
6. Communicate directions and expectations clearly.

Use of Classroom Rules and Routines

In my classroom, I will implement rules and routines. At the beginning of the school
year, students will be able to help develop rules for the classroom with the teachers
support. The rules will be stated in a positive manner and will be introduced
immediately and consistently used throughout the school year.

Student Involvement
Active student involvement contributes to a well-managed classroom. If students
are engaged in learning, there is little time disruption. Students need to be active in

learning. It is my job to keep students interested in the content. The key is to keep a
good balance between lecture/teacher-talk and active involvement in the learning.

Parent Involvement
Parent involvement in education is crucial. No matter what their income, or
background, students with involved parents are more likely to have higher grades
and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved
behavior, and adapt well to school.
It is especially important for teachers and parents to communicate with one another
about what is happening in school and how their child is performing.

Interfacing with Building and District Policy and Procedures

I believe as the teacher, it is my responsibility to follow district and building policies
and procedures in and out of the school.

Discipline Plan
Students will need to follow the rules set forth by the students and teacher. If these
rules are correctly followed, students will be rewarded with positive consequences.
For example, praise from the teacher. If the rules are violated, students will be given
a limit. This is a warning to the students. If students continue to disobey the rules,
teacher will begin use of negative consequences. For example, the teacher could
pull the student into the hallway to talk privately. If matters are worse than what I as
the teacher can handle, outside help can/will be called. This could include a
principal coming into the classroom to observe or a parent-teacher conference.
