Recently, a majority of the District 211 Board of Education (BOE) made a monumental decision
affecting you as a student, parent, grandparent, guardian, or taxpayer. In a 5-2 decision, a great
injustice was brought upon our community.
Five elected BOE Members voted on your behalf to allow a gender-dysphoric male student
access to the girls locker room at Fremd High School. Superintendent Dan Cates recommended
this action.
This means a student with male genitalia is now welcomed inside the girls locker room
where girls are changing out in the open. The Failed Five school board members voted
against common sense.
Before and during two Board meetings, an outcry from hundreds of parents was ignored by this
group of Board members. They caved to the lawless demands of the federal Dept. of Eds Office
for Civil Rights, who cares not for the civil rights for all, but rather only about the demands of a
few while hijacking the term civil rights. The Failed Fives actions told 99.9% of the students they
were not worth fighting for, despite brave girls pleading with them at the second meeting.

They refused to protect all minor students, which should always be their #1 priority.
For over two years, all bathrooms in the five D211 high schools (Conant, Fremd, Hoffman
Estates, Palatine, Schaumburg) have been open access to gender-dysphoric students
with no discussion in open Board session and no notice to parents. The total lack of
transparency continued as they refused to release the settlement agreement before voting!
Overly-generous accommodations for some students were made at the cost of the basic
rights and needs of other vulnerable minor children and the rights of their parents.
They opened the door to numerous and continous violations of privacy by providing access
to these intimate spaces to the opposite biological sex.
We need you because problems of this magnitude do not get solved without
many individuals speaking up.
Attend the Board of Education meetings whenever possible. At the
monthly meetings, each resident can address the BOE for 5 minutes. Come and let
them know your displeasure. Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. at the Administration
Center at 1750 S. Roselle Rd. in Palatine. Entrance is on south side of building (not
the front). Upcoming meetings dates are:
