The Day has Finally Come!

On January 11, 2016, the biggest soccer ceremony of the

year had taken place at Zurich, Switzerland. As the three outstanding nominees Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar Junior,
had been waiting to hear the results, their hands were sweating,
their knees were shaking and their eyes were not blinking. As the
host got up on stage and introduced the nominees, everyone was
extremely quiet and focused especially the contestants. And finally, as the host was about to announce the winner, he took a terrifying pause which got the best of the three nominees. And then it
was time, the name that was announced was LIONEL MESSI,
for the fifth time in his career. As he stepped onto the stage to receive his award, fireworks were lit and released on the exterior of
the recreation center, balloons were dropped from the ceilings and
celebrations were renowned. Lionel Messi gave an amazing, inspirational speech which motivated many around the globe. And finally, he went up on stage to accept the award, which will be an
outstanding reminder of a great honor.

What Is The Ballon DOr?

Here are the three nominees for the Ballon DOr.

The FIFA Ballon DOr is an annual association football

award given to the worlds best male player by the sports governing body, which is FIFA. It is awarded based on votes from international media representatives and national team coaches and captains who select the player they dream to have performed the best
in the previous calendar year. The FIFA Ballon DOr is considered
the most prestigious individual award in world football.

Who Were The Nominees?

Ever since the inception of the Ballon DOr, it has been

completely dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as a
part of their ongoing rivalry. What should have been, who the
three nominees are? Is now just, who the third nominee is? As
mentioned above, this has been mainly because of the two breathtaking players which are Messi and Ronaldo. So in the 2016 Ballon DOr ceremony, there were obviously Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Junior, for the first time in his calling.
Ronaldo and Messi had a higher chance of winning than Neymar
because of their astonishing history, and in this case for this year,
Messi had taken the lead by the most amount of votes, from his
dear fans.

In order for anyone to win the Ballon DOr, they need to

have the most amount of votes. So the stats for this years three
nominees known as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Junior were:

Ronaldo, with a solid 30% of the total votes

Neymar with a satisfying 18% of the votes
And Messi, with an astonishing 52% of the total votes

The three nominees that were elected for the 2016 Ballon DOr are the
best of the best and proceed with excellent progress on the field. As I mentioned
earlier, Ronaldo and Messi have been dominating the whole Ballon DOr concept since its inception. Before, it used to be the matter of who the three nominees are going to be, but now, however, it is the matter of who the third nominee
is after considering the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will obviously be nominated. Again the three nominees for this years Ballon DOr ceremony, are Ronaldo, Messi, and Neymar. So lets talk more about the winner
which is Lionel Messi and what exactly makes him better than the others.

Lionel Mess was born on June 24, 1987 in Rosario, Argentina. Messi
grew up with his mom, dad, and his two elder brothers. When Messi was a little
kid, he suffered from a growth hormone-deficiency and the doctors said that the
only way for Messi to continue to grow was to get the appropriate medicine. At
the time, his parents were not able to afford the expensive treatment and were
completely hopeless until they got a call from FC Barcelonas reserved team
which agreed to pay for the hormone-deficiency treatment if they agreed to
come to Barcelona and let Messi play for the team. Fortunately, Messi loved the
game and was very good at it. So Messi and his entire family moved to Barcelona without any income, job or any relatives in the new country. Later Messi became a start in his new country, scoring at will and leading his club to championships. In 2012, Lionel Messi set a record for the most goals in a calendar year
and afterward was honored FIFA Player of The Year, a record for the fourth
time in his career. From childhood till today, Messi has always been a hero to
many and a passionate soccer player as he shows in his games and proves with
his awards.

Conclusion
In all, I would like to say that Lionel Messi is an outstanding soccer
player. Also, let us not forget the fact that the other two competitors for the 2016
Ballon DOr, which were Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Junior were fairly close
making the win, even more valuable. The annual Ballon DOr is a very spectacular ceremony which rewards the best player of the year for their outstanding contribution to their respected team. The three competitors are very well appreciated, but, at the end of the day, there is always going to be a winner and loser, But
that doesnt mean that we should just give up. In fact, we should keep on trying
as represented in an excellent manner by the losing competitors as each time they
do not win the Ballon DOr they keep trying, in hopes that they will win in the
