The Rights that All Men Should Have
As John Quincy Adams stood in front of the Supreme Court asking
them what their thoughts were on the issue of slavery in the country
he noticed that it wasnt a case just about slavery but rather the fact
that it concerned the very nature of man. The prejudice country that is
filled with many different nationalities that we live in today did not
always accept those of different cultures and nationalities as it does
now. Slavery and discrimination against those that were not white run
deep in our history and are the backbone of what makes America so
successful. The fact of the matter is that America was not once as free
as we like to think it was when you look back on history and see the
genocide of the Natives and the Slavery of the Africans. America is not
the land of the free based on the discrimination and use of other races
for there own gain due to their differences in cultural beliefs, and skin
color.
America is known as the land of the free yet America was built up
on the backs of an enslaved race, contradicting everything that
America says it stands for. Because of American greed, it contradicts
itself. Unfortunately, since the beginning of the colonies within
America, slavery has become the backbone of this nation, and without
it America would not be able to be as successful, or as economically
stable as it is today. In many instances it has been shown how

Americans are naturally greedy, and does not follow the motto in which
the country was founded on. An article from the Executive Review
written by Vice President, John Calhoun; talks about how slavery is a
crucial part to America. He states, There has never existed a civilized
society in which one segment did not thrive upon the labor of
another Slavery has always been with us and is neither sinful nor
immoral. Rather, as war and antagonism are the natural states of man,
so, too, slavery, as natural as it is inevitable He is stating that slavery
is natural, and for this reason is not immoral. It is simply something
that is necessary to a young countries overall success, and economic
growth. This article proves how America is contradictory to everything
that The United States is supposed to be built up on. The land of the
free should not be built up on the backs of a enslaved race, or almost
obliterate an entire nation thats home was taken from them. Instead,
they should be excepting of all people and not turn a blind eye to an
injustice occurring unto another race due to the greed of there nation.
The Nature of Americans is to discriminate against other races,
due to a misunderstanding of their beliefs, and a pre deceived idea of
entitlement. Americas history is full of the mistreatment of people with
different skin tones then those of the whites. In the beginning of this
country the new settlers pushed the Natives out of their land that had
been theirs for generations and generations. Americans have a
predicted idea that a persons skin color determines their worthiness. In

John Adams speech he talks about how the court has become racial
discriminative too, and is not able to see that they are as much human,
as they themselves are, if he were white, he wouldn't be standing
before this court fighting for his life. If he were white and his enslavers
were British, he wouldn't be able to stand, so heavy the weight of the
medals and honors we would bestow upon him. This quote shows the
simple and unchangeable fact that a persons skin color has changed
the opinion of an entire nation, and led them to mistreat, and
misunderstand an entire race of people. This allows the people of the
United States to understand how they are mistreating the natives who
were indigenous to this land.
America is not the land of the free based on the idea of differences
in cultural beliefs, and skin color should not allow the United States the
right to discriminate different races for there own gain in development
of their country. The idea of using different raced slaves is to show the
power that skin color and cultural beliefs can have upon one and how
the white race is inferior. This idea caused many races to be
discriminated and give them loss of privileges and human rights. To
state this more clearly the founders and early colonies dehumanized
the indigenous Natives and Africans by taking away their rights and
enforcing labor upon them. Like John Quincy Adams fought for the
rights of all men no matter what color their skin was, because it was
the right thing to do. Because all men should be equally treated and

have the same privileges no matter the skin color, cultural beliefs, and
or nationality of an individual.
