Although historically, China has given its full support to Palestine, Israel and China have
made recent bonds and China supports both parties.
The early leaders of China gave their full support to Palestine when it came to the conflict
of their return. As mentioned in Why China Must Pay Attention to the Israel-Palestine
Conflict, author Mu Chunshan writes, Former Chinese leaders such as Mao Zedong and Deng
Xiaoping had almost unconditional support for the revolutionary cause led by Yasser Arafat, who
was called an old friend of the Chinese people.(Chunshan). The friendship between China and
Palestine allows the Palestinians to know they have support from China.
Chinas desire to better its image in the Arab world would be greatly assisted by giving
support to Palestine. As shown in Where does China Stand by Nima Khorrami Assl when
stating, Supporting Palestinians can considerably boost China's approval rating in the Arab
world.(Assl). China not only has a historic friendship with Palestine, but also has the desire to
promote itself in the Arab world, giving China potential benefits from its friendship with
Palestine.
Israel and China have developed a relationship that has created support from China for
Israel. Author Chris Zambelis of Chinas Palestine Policy explains that China and Israels
main relationship is forged through trade, as mentioned when stating,China is Israels largest
trading partner in Asia and the volume of trade between China and Israel represents the sixth
largest in the world.(Zambelis). Although Israel and China have few relations aside from trade,
both parties benefit from one another which gives China a commitment to maintain that
relationship.
China has been working towards finding peace between the two parties. Author Xinhua
of China Urges Israel to Create Conditions for Peace Talks mentions this when stating, China,
a firm supporter and sincere mediator for peace between Palestine and Israel, has been pushing
for peace and negotiation between Palestine and Israel.(Xinhua). The aims of China to create
peace between the two parties is already in place and international support would allow for this
peace to be made before any more devastation or travesties occur.

Along with a few other Asian countries, China has created a policy for dealing with
international relations. This policy as mentioned in A Positive Role for China in the IsraeliPalestinian Conflict by author Yiyi Chen is explained when it states, In 1954, leaders of China,
India and Myanmar initiated Five Principles for handling international relations. These are
mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference
in each others internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence.(Chen).
China is obligated to follow its own guidelines while finding a solution that pleases both parties
to find consensus and make peace.
China proposes a solution that provides Israel and Palestine a two state solution. The land
would be divided between Palestine and Israel in which the area would be distributed based on
holy locations and population. This option includes monitored and regulated holy sites by the
United Nations to be shared among both Palestine and Israel, sanctions to be placed on
individuals and groups who act in discrimination towards people of the other nation, and free
access for any Israeli or Palestinian to transport themselves to the other nation with the
requirement of passing through security. Some form of transportation will be provided for
Israelis and Palestinians who may need to relocate. If Palestine and Israel cannot cooperate
within a 60 day period, the United Nations will place sanctions upon both Israel and Palestine
monetary funding will be shut off between them and any other nation. If and when Israel and
Palestine can cooperate beyond the 60 day period, the sanctions will be removed.
