TO PROVIDING
SAFE WORKING
CONDITIONS
FOR AMERICAS
WORKERS. OUR
FIELD-TECHS
ARE THE
FRONTLINE.
Data Required for IR Reports: Field Technician Guide
1.
The first thing that should be provided in your IR reports is the identification of the location where you are
working and specific location within the project building or facility. For example: Electrical Room 1, Kitchen, Main
Electrical Room, Floor 1 Electrical Room, etc.
2.
The second piece of identifying information provided should be the panel or equipment that you are
taking images of. For example: Panel 1A, Transformer 1, etc. This is critical for reporting processes.
3.
The third piece of critical information is the type/nature of equipment/parts that you have imaged with
your FLIR imaging device. This could include wiring, fuses, transformers, switch gear, or other energized
equipment. It is required that you provide specifics on the equipment you have imaged. This is what our clients
rely on in terms of repairs, OSHA compliance, warnings, labeling, and risk management. If you do not provide the
above three (3) items, we are not able to successfully assist our clients in providing a safe and legal work
environment. Our primary purpose for being in business is to provide accurate information to our clients so that
they can provide a safe and legal workplace.
4.
The fourth set of data relates to amperage and voltage. Where appropriate, you shall also provide load
information. It is critical that we report the amperage and voltage to our clients since this data is related to safety
warnings that may have to be provided to workers at our clients site. See, Example of Report Above.
5.
You must relate/correlate 1 through 4, above, to the IMAGE NUMBER indicated on each photo that you
take with Amerisks FLIR device. For example, if Image No. 001 was taken at Panel 1, Main Electrical Room, of
the Fuse Assembly, Amerisk expects that you show which image relates to the physical area in which you took the
photo. If you do not provide that information to us, we cannot report accurate data to our clients.
6.
You are required to use the Excel Spreadsheet Template provided to you for inventorying information
provided through IR/Thermographic inspection of client electrical distribution systems. This information must be
uploaded at the end of each work day, without exception. You will have been provided with a sample of the
Infrared Inspection Report provided to our clients. It is your duty to provide accurate reporting information. If you
have not been provided with what you need to do your work, it is your duty to inform us in writing immediately.
7.
All data is to be uploaded to the ShareFile link provided to you by our oce. You will receive an e-mail
with the information about the link at the beginning of each project and, where possible, on a daily basis during the
project. If you do not receive this information, you need to inform us right away and we will get you that link.
Folders are contained at ameriskengineering.sharefile.com.

NEC/CODES:

This is a single phase system or split phase and optimally should

be gutted out and updated to 3 phase. Otherwise have qualified

COMMENTS:

1. While utilities feed (Burbank Water & Power) is

3ph 4W the facility is single phase. This set up
is highly antiquated and delivery of electrical is
not efficient and therefore more costly. Note the
overloading of the hot phase compared to the
return or neutral.
2. Apparent overload of HOT phase.
