Todays Goal:
Create a presentation and present based on the following questions:

What is a subject or topic that you would like to focus on during your last two years in STEM?

How have your classes during Freshman and Sophomore year led you to choosing this?

What skills have you developed over the last two years? (ex: presentations, collaborations, writing, critical thinking, problem
solving, etc.)

What are a few major experiences that have affected your outlook on STEM and the future topics you want to focus on?
Specifically name at least two projects, activities, or experiences from the past two years.

Your work will be individual although you will be giving and receiving feedback throughout the day.

Presentation needs to be 3-5 minutes long.

You are required to complete this entire packet. You will be asked to go to the Control Room if you are not following the
progression of the day.
The GOOD news: Your hard work today will pay off! Your packet work and your presentation will replace your lowest TEST
grade in a class of your choosing.

Phase 1 BRAINSTORM

7:15-7:45 General Group Meeting


Lets go over the goals and expectations for the day, followed by a quick Q&A session.

7:45-8:15 Individual Brainstorming


This is a time for reflection and brainstorming.


Answer the following questions thoughtfully:

1. What are some of the best experiences you have had over the past couple of years within STEM? What
about these experiences have made them stick out to you?




2. In what ways have you grown? What STEM and 21st century skills do you feel you have particularly
improved on? (Presenting, creating, collaborating, ideating, etc.)




3. What are your long-term goals (in academics and in the work force) and how do they relate to your
experiences in STEM over the past two years?





4. Time to brainstorm your focus for your presentation! Write 3 possible topics based on your reflections,
personal goals, and the following goals of the presentation:

What is a subject or topic that you would like to focus on during your last two years in STEM?

How have your classes during Freshman and Sophomore year led you to choosing this?
What skills have you developed over the last two years? (ex: presentations, collaborations,

8:15-8:35 Break into Small Groups, Share, & Finalize Topic

Find your group based on your Group Activity 1 sticker. Informally, share your 3 ideas and receive feedback.

Based on the feedback you received, finalize your topic. Clear the topic with a STEM teacher and have them
initial here: __________

Now, create a sign that you will wear all day that describes your topic. Wear it proudly all day!

Phase 2 CREATE
8:45-10:00 Time to CREATE!

You will break up into groups based on your project topic.


This is your time to WORK.
Key things to remember:
o Presentation must be somewhere between 3-5 minutes.
o Your presentation must address all 4 of the major goals for the day, including mentioning at
least 2 specific STEM projects/experiences.
o Your presentation should hook the audience be creative!

10:00-10:35 Activity Break



10:40-11:05 A-Lunch you must return promptly.

Phase 3 FEEDBACK/REVISE
11:10-12:00 Formal Feedback PQP Praise, Question, Polish
Find your group based on your Group Activity 2 sticker. Each member of your group will take a turn
presenting. You will fill in a PQP for each presentation and share it with the presenter.
