What Is The Pancreas


Pear shaped gland located between the stomach and the
spine
Responsible for making hormones
Insulin
Enzyme

What Is Pancreatic Cancer


It develops in the tissues of the pancreas
-Its an aggressive form of cancer
-Malignant pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors
About 70% percent of pancreatic cancers occur in the
head of the pancreas

What Happens To The Cell


1. Cell grows and divides rapidly
a. It then becomes a tumor that does not respect
normal boundaries in the body
2. Pancreatic cells spread through the lymph

Description Of The Symptoms


Weight loss
Jaundice
( Yellow Skin )
Dark urine
itching
Vomiting

Possible Causes Of Cancer


Diabetes
Smoking
Obesity

Prevention
Avoid Smoking
Responsible for 20% to 30% of pancreatic cancers
Getting and staying healthy
Avoiding certain pesticides may reduce risk for
Pancreatic cancer
