Central Cabarrus High School, a North Carolina
School of Distinction, is located in Concord, North
Carolina with a student population of approximately 1440 which consists of grades 9-12. Nearly 125 teachers and staff members work diligently
to set high academic standards for all students. In
2012, Central Cabarrus High added the STEM
Magnet Program to its current curriculum. The
entire community is involved in the attainment and
recognition of the successes of its students.

WRESTLING (M)
History
Central Cabarrus High School was formed in 1966
by joining three area high schools: Bethel, Harrisburg, and Hartsell. In its beginning, Central was
home to 850 students and 45 teachers. The focal
point of the new school was the C.A. Furr Planetarium, the only school planetarium in the state of
North Carolina. Central boasted a space age classroom during a space enthralled time.

The counseling department, comprised of four
school counselors, a social worker, a graduation
coach and a registrar provide a comprehensive
school counseling program. The mission of the

Grade point average (GPA) is computed at


the end of each semester. GPA includes all
courses that students receive a grade for. Honors/Advanced courses receive a single (1)
additional quality point [1/2 point (.5) additional for the Class of 2019]. Advanced Placement courses receive two (2) additional quality points [one (1) additional for Class of
20419].
The student transcript reports numeric
grades. These grades are converted to a 4.0
scale. The class rank is based upon the converted 4.0 weighted scale. The grade in each
class is converted to the 4.0 weighted scale
and each individual 4.0 conversion is averaged together to determine GPA and class
