Dear Randy & Cindy Bagley:
American Home Shield Corporation (AHS) has issued this communication as confirmation of the details for the
reimbursement (CIL) offered in lieu of replacement available to you on your water heater.

The offer of $713.52 minus any service fee due or the amount you spend minus any service fee
due, whichever is less, will be issued in lieu of having the service contractor sent to your home
by AHS to complete the replacement.
The reimbursement offered is calculated based on what AHS expects to pay for the covered
replacement with brand new equipment and parts.
Should you accept the reimbursement offer, you are required to have the replacement properly completed by a
licensed contractor1, where required, in order to receive future coverage by your AHS home service contract on the
water heater. For replacements, the item must be new2 with a manufacturers warranty. Once the required
documentation is received and approved by AHS, this new water heater will be covered pursuant to the terms of our
contract with you.
Please send the required Proof of Repair paid invoice by one of the following methods blacking out any credit/debit
card or banking account information prior to sending to AHS:

After American Home Shield receives the invoice and determines the needed work has been performed, your
reimbursement will be processed. This process and mailing time generally takes 10-14 calendar days to receive your
reimbursement.
Unless and until the replacement is accomplished with brand new equipment and parts installed in compliance with
code including obtaining any required permits, and you have provided proof to us of this fact, you have not accepted
this option, and we have no duty to pay this amount. Moreover, if you contact AHS in the future beyond the 40 days
from the date of this communication and provide acceptable proof of replacement as required by your contract, we
will be obligated to pay only the amount offered today, regardless of any increases in equipment prices or labor
rates.
