This target has a nice ring to it by John Green

Now that I have a target air rifle I wanted to add a Bell Target to my collection of targets.
All the bell target DIY that I looked at were too complicated, then I found Barry Hutchins
Website and made my own version of a bell target.
The requirements are simple, a piece of wood for the base, some 2/3mm steel plate and a 6 inch
(150mm) alarm bell. I used an old computer case for the cover as it was close to my base size.
The only problem was that I did not have a 6 inch bell, so looking in the wifes kitchen cupboards
I found a nice round stainless steel bowl of 150mm size. I cut off the side handles and looking at
my HSS blade afterwards the teeth were badly worn down.
The target holder is bent up from some 2mm steel plate and the 9.5mm centre hole for the bull drilled.
I added some 6mm rubber sheeting to hold the pellets and keep the target quite, until the bell rings.
(In my target I have an alloy 3mm target holder and some 2mm steel covered in rubber as I had run out

of 2mm steel)
I shoot at about 17m and the bell is loud when you hit the bull.
