Hammurabi believed that social justice was reached when people received
the same wrong doing that they imposed on others. Others believe that social
justice cannot be reached with violence. Malala and the Pakistani Army both want
social justice. Malala does not believe in using violence, while the Pakistani army
does.
Malala does not believe in using violence to reach social justice. For example,
in the 7th paragraph of her speech she says, I do not even hate the Talib who shot
me. Even if there is a gun in my hand and he stands in front of me. I would not
shoot him. This is the compassion that I have learnt. Therefore, this shows that
Malala does not believe in using violence to reach social justice because she
wouldnt even shoot the man who shot her. She believes in compassion. Malala
uses repetition in her speech. For example, half way through her speech she states
that everyone deserves basic rights by repeating, their right to, and lists many
things that people deserve such as dignity, equal opportunity and peace. It makes
the speech more effective because she emphasizes that people have rights. She is
give a special message by stating her point over and over again.
The Pakistani army believes that sometimes it is necessary to stop violence using
violence. For example, General Bajwa stated that, "We will continue our efforts until
(Fazlullah) is arrested or killed. Fazullah is the president of the Taliban. Therefore
this shows that they are willing to use violence to make sure that the president of
the Taliban is stopped. The general of Pakistans army used logos, or facts to show
that he is for using violence. For example, he states facts when he says that, it
was a "known fact" that Fazlullah and other "terrorists" are hiding in Afghanistan.
This shows that the army is using facts to find the Taliban so they can use violence
to stop them.
All in all, Malala and the Pakistani government want social justice for all. They
each used strategies such as metaphor and pathos, to make their opinions clear to
the public to show people what they cared about. In my opinion, the only way to
reach justice is to become the change you wish to see. If you want a peaceful
world, you must act with peace. If you want social justice, be socially just to all.
