Notes: Cilantro is a cotton/poly yarn that is very stretchy. The pattern is written to be
fitted, thus the yarn is perfect for this project. If using another yarn, you
may want to add extra stitches (in a multiple of 4) when casting on to
allow for “room to grow”, and adjust pattern accordingly.
Also, the length of the halter is generous so that your little one can wear it for
more than one season.
Pattern:
With circ needles, CO 44 (48, 52, 56, 60) sts, PM, CO 44 (48, 52, 56, 60) st, PM to
idicate beginning of row. 88 (96, 104, 112, 120) sts total.
Continue in stockinette st, changing color every 3 (3.5, 4, 4.5, 5) inches. Begin 4th color
And knit 4 (5, 6, 7, 8) rows.
BO half of the total sts (the sts between the markers). You should have 44 (48, 52, 56,
60) sts remaining.
Begin I-cord: Put remaining 3 sts on DPN. With remaining 3 sts, work a 14 (16, 18, 20,
22) inch i-cord. BO all sts.
Put the 3 live stitches that are on the stitch holder onto a DPN. Re-attach yarn and begin
