REVIEWER QUESTIONNAIRE
(Proposal)
Thank you for agreeing to review this proposal for MRI Learning System. We appreciate
you taking the time to respond to the questions below. Please be as specific as possible in
your comments. We encourage both detail and any additional comments.
1. In this Brief Proposal, the author outlines two books for the area of MRI that would
complement each other. The author also directs this toward active technologists in
the field. I am interested in how this product would be used in academic programs as
I would like to see this as more of a core text that would also serve as a
reference/working text for the professional. What are your thoughts on the need for
such a product bundle? Please support your response.
I like the bundling of these books. One of the challenges for me in MRI school was
taking what the text books said and applying it to real situations
2. The author indicates three core competitorsdo you agree? Disagree? What
product(s) are you currently using to present this material? (And I do understand that
you are basing this on a brief description and table of contents.
I do think the MRI in Practice was difficult to understand and hard to read. Ironically,
one of the books that helped me the most was a book called MRI made easy from Berlex
Laboratories. I dont believe it is in production anymore, but it is what made it all click
for me.
3. If there is a need and we publish these products as core texts, what would be the
appropriate course(s) in your or associated program?
I dont remember all of the class titles I took when I was in MRI school but based on the
table on contents I think they could be used in many course i.e. advanced pt care,
instrumentation, clinical application, but especially a review course. I did find the
Review Questions for MRI very helpful.
4. Based on your knowledge, what is the annual enrollment for these courses?
5.
Sorry, I dont have exact number for this, but if I remember correctly there were about 16
students in my class.
6. The author indicated to us that this is not a fully developed Table of Contents (TOC),
so keeping this in mind, what is missing from this proposal or table of contents that
should be included? What would you recommend be removed from the TOC?
As long as the basic principle chapter covers the physics I think it is good.

7. Based on the TOC in its current form, did you find the presentation of the material
accurate and well-organized?
Yes
8. What are the strengths of this proposal? Weaknesses?
I like to review portion and if the application section covers case studies and example I
think that is great.
9. Would you likely adopt the proposed volume(s) as course text(s)? Why or why not?
As I am not currently teaching in an MRI program, this is a tough question to answer, but
I can tell you that I wouldnt like teaching out of the books that are available.
10. Please summarize your views on the material here:
I liked the TOC and thought it was well organized. Again, as I didnt like the books that I
had to study from, I think something new is needed.
11. Regarding publication of the volume:
I strongly recommend publication
X

I recommend publication
I do not recommend publication
