GHOST STORIES

1. When I was about 10, we my family of six lived in an extremely small

apartment. Two bedrooms upstairs and then the living room. When I was
tired of my siblings I would sleep downstairs. One night I am lying on the
couch facing the front door and watching the sky through the window by
the door when a face shows up in the window illuminated by a lighter. I
freeze, and the face goes away. Im pretty relieved, thinking it was maybe
our druggie neighbours seeing if my parents were still awake when it
shows up again. I try to scream but when I hope my mouth nothing came
out, not a sound. The person then kicks in the door and walks in the room,
he sees me, smiles and goes towards the kitchen. As he comes out of the
kitchen with a knife my dad makes it down the stairs and the guy boots it
out of there. I still cant sleep easily on couches to this day.
2. At about 2 am our neighbour rang our doorbell and was banging on the
door. My dad opened the door and she said something about her brother,
who was mentally handicapped, murdering her parents and locking her in
the closet. He thought she was just having a nightmare, but it turns out she
was telling the truth. Cops were called, the guy is in the insane asylum
now. Neighbour still lives in that house.
3. One night when I was maybe 10-12 I had trouble falling asleep. My
bedroom was the entire top floor of our house with my bed and such being
on the left side and storage closets and a play area being on the right. I
was lying in bed when I heard a noise from the other side of the room and
see a rocking horse begin to rock. It was sitting just outside one of the
storage closet doors. It proceeded to rock its way halfway across the room
and stopped dead under the ceiling light. At this point I was freaking out
and just buried my head under blankets and never peeked out again until
morning.
4. Before I was born my father and mother had a small apartment together.
My mother told me once she went in the basement and saw a woman
standing at the base of the steps just staring up at her and then she just
vanished. Then my father was in the shower (one with a sliding glass door
that you can barely make out whats on the other side) when a large figure
walked up to the other side of the glass and banged on it making it blow
out, my mother found him in the fetal position in the shower covered in
glass and no one was around. That last one made them move out. He

confirmed it happened but doesnt like to talk about it, hes a relatively
tough dude so for something to scare him that much means a lot.
Somewhere in between those two occurrences they came home to find
absolutely everything moved over about an inch, they realized this cause
theyre not very good at dusting.
5. When I was 17, I went to my mates house for some beers for his Birthday, I
probably only had about five drinks. Come the early hours of the morning,
probably around 2-3 am, I head out to the kitchen for a drink. I pour a drink
of water and turn around and take a sip, and as Im swallowing I swear I
hear footsteps (the ground in the entire room is all made up of tiles), so I
hold my drink down and listen for a few seconds. Next thing I know, I hear
fast footsteps in front of me running towards me, and suddenly a huge cold
breeze blew right through meat that point, I just freaked out and ran back
for the bedroom. I ended up waking my friend up and telling him what
happened and we listened and could hear odd bangs and bumps from out
there, but nothing out of the ordinary after that ever happened. Ill still
always remember it though, and it even gives me goosebumps writing this.
6. I had a good friend die when I was 10. Well call him Jon. He died pretty
tragically too. He was hit by a car literally right in front of my house when
he was chasing down a ball that bounced into the road. Fast forward 7
years. Im babysitting my little sister and she is playing outside. Im on the
porch swing reading and shes shooting hoops on a little tikes hoop. The
ball bounces out into the road and I look up to see her yell, Dont go after
that ball Jon!! Freaked the shit out of me. She never even knew about
Jon. I asked her who Jon was and she said that he would play with her
sometimes outside.
7. A few years ago, I was home alone at night time. I was watching TV in the
living room when I heard the doorbell ring. Whenever I hear the doorbell
ring, especially, when Im home alone I am cautious to answer it. I walk up
to the peephole without turning on the porch light (so they dont know if
anyone is actually home or not) and look through. Its really dark but I can
see a small figure (more like, black blob, idk its definite shape and had to
be around 3-4 feet) doing like a dancing motion. Dipping down and
oscillating its arms outward. Think of a person moving their arms like
wings gracefully. It was dark outside but this figure was more opaque so I
could see this going on. After a few seconds I stopped looking through the
peephole because it was too freaky to look at. I regained some courage

and looked back through and whatever it was was gone. To this day I still
dont know what that was and I get freaked out thinking about it.
8. Me and my girlfriend at the time were at a friends farm doing some star
gazing. Anyone in rural Australia will know how amazing the stars can get.
Suddenly we hear this scream, nothing like Ive heard before and some of
the cows of the farm running.Scares the shit out of us and we very quickly
turn on the quad bike and ride away. Next day we go out onto the farm,
and there were a few dead cows and calves, torn open to bits and very
close to where we were.
9. This story happens when he was about 8. He was playing hide and seek
with his friend at his house, it was late, probably around 10. Its my friends
turn to find his friend. Hes looking everywhere around the house, but he
cant seem to find him anywhere. He eventually decides he must be hiding
outside. So he leaves the house to find him.He starts searching around
some bushes when he hears his friends voice coming from a dark corner
maybe 20 feet away. They voice calls for him to come over. He didnt,
because he was already spooked out enough being outside in the pitch
black. He yells back, No! You come over here!Thats when he says it
really started to get spooky. The voice that sounded just like his friend kept
insisting that he come over to the dark corner. He keeps replying no over
and over again. At this point, he said the the voice suddenly changed to a
dark, horrible sounding voice demanding he come over. At this point he ran
back inside, only to see his friend in the living room. When questioned how
he got inside so fast, the friend said he never went outside.
10. Went for a midnight walk with my boyfriend and dog about 4 years ago
after we moved to a new apartment. We went walking around a really
popular lake but this was like 12:30 or 1 am. Anyway we get near the end
of the walking path and we pass a senior couple slowly walking past. Okay,
weird they should be asleep theyre so old. Then we continue walking and
my dog stops at a park bench to pee and theres an old man sitting there
silently. Holy Christ! Spooky, come on dog. We walk a little bit further and I

swear my memory is not cloudy here but theres got to be a dozen or more
old people just standing and slowly walking around this part of the path!
Some are sitting and some are in couples. But nobody is making a sound
My boyfriend and I kind of drag each other and the dog through the mess
of old people and briskly get out of there. I contacted the local folklore
ghost guy but he said he hasnt heard anything about that area. Theres no
old folks home in that part of town and certainly no seniors home is going
to sponsor a seniors walk on the lake at 1 in the morning. Still freaks me
out.
11. This did not happen to me but my friend. She was headed to a party with
an acquaintance late one evening. They were driving down a secluded
road when she felt the car coming to a very slow stop. She said that she
felt almost paralyzed. From their right two unnaturally large black horses
silently and without moving their legs kind of floated across the road. She
said that she felt a power or force that was so great it was terrifying. After
they passed the car started forward again and that both her and the
passenger were in a weird shock the rest of the way. They both felt the
same weird paralyzation and the same kind of fear when the horses
passed.
12.

This happened to my mothers uncle in the 70s in India. I couldnt

believe this story when my mom first told it to me but after meeting her
uncle a year before he passed away, my view changed.
13.

My mothers uncle, who Ill just call unc. for short, lived in a rural

Indian village. Electricity was present, but unreliable and the entire village
basically became pitch black once the sun went down. Unc. was a sharp,
well-respected accountant; hed ride his bike long distances to meet with
clients. This one evening, he was riding back home from a neighbouring
village and the path was particularly dark and desolate. As he was riding,
he heard a voice calling out to him from behind. He knew there was no one
else around but this voice sounded like his daughters. He knew this wasnt
possible because his daughter had died at age 5. Very scared, he peddled
faster and tried not to turn around. In Indian superstition, you shouldnt look
back to hear voices of loved ones or friends calling you like this on dark,

lonely roads because it is said it is demonic entities trying to trick you to

get your attention. For some reason, unc. looked back and from that point,
he was never the same again. He made it back home, but was deeply
disturbed and mentally unstable for the remainder of his life. A once
intelligent accountant was reduced to a dejected, mumbling, mental case.
He refused to talk about what he saw to anyone, including me when I met
him. That look in his eyes when I met him freaks me out till this day.

dead in
apparent murdersuicide
SPARKS, Nevada-- Debby and Mark Constantino, estranged husband and wife who've appeared on the
Travel Channel series "Ghost Adventures," have been found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

The Associated Press reports that Reno, Nev. police responded to a hostage situation at the Constantino's
adult daughter's apartment, hours after another man's death in Reno. The police aren't releasing the details
of the third man's death, only that it is "directly related" to the Constantino situation.
Reno Police Lt. William Rulla tells the Gazette Journal that an unnamed woman found the man, her
roommate, dead in their apartment and reported that their third roommate, Debby Constantino, was
missing. Officers used Debby's cell phone to track her to the apartment where she died.
Upon arrival at the apartment, the officers heard gunshots and heard a man yelling at them to leave. The
man told the officers, "Give me 15 minutes to gather my thoughts, or I'll kill her."
The police stormed the apartment, but the couple was dead by the time they got inside.
A restraining order had been served by Debby against her husband last week and the two were scheduled
to appear in court in December to begin divorce proceedings. Rulla tells the Reno Gazette Journal that
Debby was also previously involved in a kidnapping and domestic violence incident at the hands of her
estranged husband.
The Constantinos were paranormal experts for "Ghost Adventures," specializing in electronic voice
phenomena. The ghost series hosts have tweeted their condolences.

Some stories
When you put down a book by Stephen King, or get to the credits of a
Hitchcock film, you can breathe a sigh of relief and laugh off what just
scared the shit out of you. It's fiction! But true horror stories, ones
legitimized through respected news organizations, are harder to
disconnect from. They happened... and could happen to anyone. Suddenly
we're not safe. The real world is more terrifying than anything we can
make up. Here are five that continue to creep us out:
1. The Death of Elisa Lam

Elisa Lam was last seen on January 31, 2013 in the lobby of the Cecil Hotel in downtown
Los Angeles. She was vacationing through the West Coast, documenting the trip on her

blog, and checking in with her parents every day. On January 31 those calls stopped.
Lam had vanished. Soon the police were involved and her parents arrived to help with
the search.
They had nothing. That February, LAPD released elevator surveillance
footage of Lam before her disappearance. The footage shows Lam
behaving strangely in the elevator, appearing to talk with invisible people,
peering around the corner of the door, crouching in the corner, and
opening and closing the door. But what exactly is going on in this video
raises more questions than answers. Theories range from psychotic
episodes, to demonic possession, to unknown assailants just out of the
camera's view:
Around that time, hotel guests started reported weird things happening
with the Cecil Hotel water supply. As CNN reports:
"The shower was awful," said Sabina Baugh, who spent eight days there
during the investigation. "When you turned the tap on, the water was coming
black first for two seconds and then it was going back to normal."
The tap water "tasted horrible," Baugh said. "It had a very funny, sweety,
disgusting taste. It's a very strange taste. I can barely describe it."
But for a week, they never complained. "We never thought anything of it," she
said. "We thought it was just the way it was here."
On the morning of February 19, a hotel employee climbed to the roof and
used a ladder to investigate the hotel's water storage tanks. That's where
authorities found the decomposing, naked body of Lam, whose personal
items were found nearby. After an autopsy, her death was labeled
accidental. NBC Los Angeles reported at the time about the strange
circumstances in the hotel's past:
The tank has a metal latch that can be opened, but authorities said access to
the roof is secured with an alarm and lock.
The single-room-occupancy hotel has an unusual history. "Night Stalker"
Richard Ramirez, who was found guilty of 14 slayings in the 1980s, lived on

the 14th floor for several months in 1985. And international serial killer Jack
Unterweger is suspected of murdering three prostitutes during the time he
lived there in 1991. He killed himself in jail in 1994.
In 1962, a female occupant jumped out of one the hotel's windows, killing
herself and a pedestrian on whom she landed.
2. An Exorcism in Indianapolis

Last year, the Indianapolis Star published a lengthy report on a family

terrorized by three children allegedly possessed by demons. The account of
Latoya Ammons and her family tells disturbing stories of children
climbing up the walls, getting thrown across rooms, and children
threatening doctors in deep unnatural voices. It would seem like
something straight out of a moviea work of fantasy, except all of these
accounts were more or less corroborated with "nearly 800 pages of official
records obtained by the Indianapolis Star and recounted in more than a
dozen interviews with police, DCS personnel, psychologists, family
members and a Catholic priest."
One of the more chilling sections of the report includes a segment about
the possessed 9-year-old:
According to Washington's original DCS reportan account corroborated by
Walker, the nursethe 9-year-old had a "weird grin" and walked backward up
a wall to the ceiling. He then flipped over Campbell, landing on his feet. He
never let go of his grandmother's hand.
Another segment of the piece reads:
The 12-year-old would later tell mental health professionals that she
sometimes felt as if she were being choked and held down so she couldn't
speak or move. She said she heard a voice say she'd never see her family
again and wouldn't live another 20 minutes.
3. Utah Murder-Suicide

In September of 2014, a Utah teen returned to his home to find his parents
and three siblings dead. "In a notebook, a 'to-do list' had been scribbled on

the pages ... The list looked as if the parents were readying to go on
vacationitems such as 'feed the pets' and 'find someone to watch after the
house' were written," The Salt Lake Tribune reported. It appeared to be
murder-suicide, but there was no suicide note, no prior indication that
they would do this, no explanation. Police could not figure out why two
parents would kill themselves and three of their four children.
For a year, no one knew exactly what happened to the family, or what
would drive the parents to do something so unthinkable. In January,
police released more chilling details in the case. According to accounts
from family members and an investigation by police, the parents were
driven by a belief that the apocalypse was coming and an obsession with a
convicted killer. As the Washington Post reported:
Friends and family told police that the parents were worried about the "evil in
the world" and wanted to escape a "pending apocalypse." But most assumed
they just wanted to move somewhere "off the grid." Investigators also found
letters written by Kristi Strack to one of the state's most infamous convicted
killers, Dan Lafferty, who was convicted in the 1984 fatal stabbing of his sisterin-law and her 1-year-old daughter. According to trial testimony, he killed the
victims at the order of his brother, Ron Lafferty, who claimed to have had a
revelation from God. The story became a book called "Under the Banner of
Heaven."
Police said Kristi Strack became friends with Dan Lafferty, and she and her
husband even visited him in prison.
4. The Phone Stalker

In 2007, ABC news documented a series of cell phone calls to families with
terrifyingly specific death threats. The unidentified callers knew exactly
what families were doing and what they were wearing.
The families say the calls come in at all hours of the night, threatening to kill
their children, their pets and grandparents. Voice mails arrive, playing

recordings of their private conversations, including one with a local police

detective.
The caller knows, the families said, what they're wearing and what they're
doing. And after months of investigating, police seem powerless to stop them.
This went on with the Kuykenall family for months, who reported a caller
with a scratchy voice threatening to slit their throats.
When the Fircrest, Wash., police tried to find the culprit, the calls were traced
back to the Kuykendalls' own phones -- even when they were turned off.
It got worse. The Kuykendalls and two other Fircrest families told ABC News
that they believe the callers are using their cell phones to spy on them. They
say the hackers know their every move: where they are, what they're doing
and what they're wearing. The callers have recorded private conversations, the
families and police said, including a meeting with a local detective.

5. "The Watcher"

After moving into their $1.3 million dream home, a New Jersey family
started receiving creepy death threats from someone who identified
themselves as "The Watcher." As CBS News reported earlier this year:
Since moving in, the owners said they have received numerous letters from
the mysterious person. "The Watcher" claimed the home "has been the
subject of my family for decades," and "I have been put in charge of watching
and waiting for its second coming," Castro reported.
The new owners have several children, and other letters asked, "Have they
found out what's in the walls yet?" and "I am pleased to know your names
now, and the name of the young blood you have brought to me."
The family was forced to flee from their home and later filed a lawsuit
against the previous owners.
