MISS RENEE KAKE

Im pleased to be teaching and leading
our hub of Year 5/6 students. I look
forward to seeing our Year 6 students
demonstrate leadership within our hubs
and school. Welcome to our Year 5
students, I am excited to see you grow
and develop your learning and
independence. Its going to be a great
year!

Welcome to the 2016 school year. All three

classes in our hub are a combination of Year 5
and Year 6 students. Each class has an equal
mix of abilities and start with around 30
students. We will be working on naming our hub
in the next few weeks.

We will be making use of our school pool as a

part of our swimming programme. We will
swim every Monday, Wednesday and
Thursday. In Week 4 we will be participating
in the Aqua Gym programme. A separate
permission form and information will be sent
home with your child before this time. Please
ensure your childs togs and towel are dry
and ready for swimming on each of these
days.

MRS SHELLEY BARBOUR

It is very exciting to be teaching Year
5/6 again - working with fabulous
students and brilliant colleagues. I have
a passion for science and look forward
to sharing this will all students across
our hub. I look forward to seeing all the
students learn and push themselves to
reach new highs this year.

W H A T S H A P P E N IN G T HI S TER M?

This year all classrooms across the school will

be working in collaborative environments.
What does this mean for your child?
Your child will be taught by all four of us across
the curriculum. Initially, we will be doing some
of our integrated topic together. We will be
establishing routines, expectations and our Hub
Treaty. As the term and year progresses we
will be able to share with you more what this
looks like in our hub.
Our Learning Information Evening will be held on
Monday 22nd February in Room 13 (where the
Admin block used to be) at 6:15pm.
If you have any questions or concerns please
take the time to ask your childs home base

TOPIC
Our overarching theme for this year is
Change. Our topic focus for the beginning of
this term will be getting to know each other
and establishing strong relationships. We will
be finding out more about ourselves, us as
learners and our roles in our community.

CAMP
This year all Year 5/6 classes will be having
their annual camp in Hanmer Springs during
Term 4. More information will be sent home
soon about dates and costs.

HUB BLOG
This year we will be running a hub blog instead
of individual classroom blogs. Our blog will be
able to be accessed through our school
website shortly. We are in the beginning
stages so give us a little bit of time to get it
up and running. We look forward to sharing
lots of interesting learning with you all :)

MRS ROS TIPPEN

I am so thrilled to be teaching in the
Year 5/6 team. It is great to catch up
with children and families that we have
got to know through their time in Year
4. I know that together we are going
to have many wonderful, meaningful
learning experiences, which will excite
and challenge you as learners.
MISS TRISH BUNTING
I am really looking forward to being part
of our Senior School Team and love
seeing lots of familiar smiling faces. I
think our Year 5 and 6 students are
lucky to have so many new learning,
leadership and sporting opportunities
ahead of them. I know they feel like
they have waited a long time!!! and am
sure they are going to do a great job.
Bring on the fun 2016.
