This statewide poll was developed and conducted by Southern Media & Opinion Research, Inc. SMOR is solely responsible forthe content of the survey. The project was funded by private subscribers. Professional interviewers completed interviews by telephone with $00 Louisiana likely voters. The interviews for this statewide poll were conducted from Tuesday, February 2, through Thursday, February 4,016, Te overall margin of error forthe statewide statistics obtained from the survey data is not greater than plus or minus 4.4 percentage points a the 95% level of confidence. In other words, there is 95% certainty that the statistis presented from the results obtained on tis survey of 500 likely voters statewide will not be more than 44 percentage points above or below the figure that would be obtained ifall of the likely voters in the state would have been interviewed, ‘The sample error may be larger for subgroup responses based on attitudinal, demographic and geographic variables. There are other sources of potential error which cannot be calculated including question wording and order of question presentation, Telephone numbers were selected at random from a sample frame of telephoned likely Louisiana voter households, Both landline and cellular telephone numbers were included in the sample frame, Cellular telephone aumbers were dialed by hand in eompliance with FCC regulations. Respondents were assigned to one of four geographic areas based on their parish of residence, The four geographie areas along with the parishes eomprising those areas ae ‘New Orleans metropolitan area, (includes JetTson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Berard, St. hare, St.John he apts, St Tammany and Washington parishes), Florida-Rivr Parishes, (cludes Ascension, Assumption, East ‘Baton Rouge, East Flciana, evil, Livingston, Pointe Coupes, St Helena St James, Tangipahon, West Baton ‘Rouge and Wes Felina parses Acadiana-souhwes(nludes Acai, Alles, Avoyles, Beaten, Calesieu, Cameron, Evangeline, bers Jefferson Davis, Late, Lafourche, St. Lande. St Mat, St Mary, Terrebonne rd Varilon parishes) North Loubana (ices Bion, Bosir, Caddo, Caldwell, Catahoula, labore, Concordia, DeSoto, Fast Carel, Frain, Gran, Jackson, Sal, Lineal, Mado, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouchi, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Teas, Union Veron, Webster, West Carol and Winn paises) A statistical weighting procedure was employed to normalize the sample tothe likely voter population based on voter political party afilition and age category. Govemor John Bel Edwards is taking office with a ten point lower negative rating ‘than the previous Governor Edwards, About one-third of the voters have yet to form an opinion ‘on Governor John Bel Edwards’ job performance.
