1. What is the nature of this work? Public safety bomb technicians handle IEDs
that are found on non-Department of Defense property. In addition to IEDs,
public safety bomb technicians also routinely destroy old and unserviceable
ammunition, commercial explosives, and fireworks.

2. What type of education or training do you need to work in this type of

occupation? The Technicians train fellow officers and the public about
explosives recognition and response.

3. What skills or talents do you need to have to be successful in this field? To

be a bomb tech you would probably need to have some skill works in the
explosion and all types of bomb weapons and how to respond/react to an
explosion.

4. What courses or activities can you take now to prepare for a future job in
this field? You can take activities that involves you learning and doing hands
on things with machinery weapons and bombs.

5. Over the next 10 years what is the job outlook for this field? They will have
more members to become a bomb tech.

6. No, this is something that I am not interested in for trying to learn and it
becomes my daily jobs because I wouldnt want to deal with explosions
every day and I wouldnt know how to set up a bomb.
