Topic: Spending Wisely
Theme: World of knowledge
Module : Listening and speaking
Learning standards: 1.1.2 Able to listen to and
respond confidently to a given stimulus by using
appropriate words, phrases and expressions with
the correct stress and intonation.
1.2.1 Able to participate in conversations to:
(e) Express opinion
Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should
be able to answer questions, state their choices
and give reasons based on given choices.
Teaching aids: Picture cards, realia.
Educational Emphases: Entrepreneurship

Presentation
1. Teacher shows the notes(currencies) of
different countries.
2. Pupils to name the countries and the value of
each note.
3. Teacher shows the notes of Malaysian currency
namely RM5, RM20 and RM50.
4. Pupils to state the value.

Practice
1. The teacher shows pictures of some objects
with the price list.
2. Teacher distributes task sheets to the
pupils on what the would buy.
3. The pupils will go around the classroom to
get the information from their friends using
the given structure (e.g. If you have RM10,
what would you buy? Why?)
4. The pupils will tick the items they have
chosen.
5. Teacher discusses about the findings of
what they have bought which they have
ticked.
6. Teacher asks them why most of the pupils
chose to buy the particular item.

Production
1. The pupils are divided into groups.
2. Pupils will be doing a role play on buying and
selling things.
3. At the end of the activity, teacher would ask
the pupils with a few questions pertaining the
extra money they have and what they would
do with the money.
4. Pupils state their responses.
5. Teacher poses a question for students to
ponder.
(Question: If you buy something and you get
the wrong change, what would you with the
money?)

6. Teacher gets the responses from the

pupils.
7. Teacher concludes the lesson for the day
and states the moral values for the day.
