COMMENTS: (strengths, areas for growth, next steps):

Alicia is a natural leader in the classroom. She demonstrates exceptional initiative, professionalism, and
selflessness. She is consistently early to school each morning and is often the last staff member to leave the
building each afternoon. Alicia consistently volunteers her time before and after school, as well as at lunch, to
help struggling students. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm are both contagious; her lessons engaging and
curricular-based. Alicia maintains a confident demeanour even when faced with last minute changes to the
daily routine. She treats each member of the Lord Dorchester community with the same level of respect,
whether they are a student, a custodian, or an administrator.
Her lessons were prepared well in advance and were differentiated for all types of learners. She became
confident in using the SMARTBoard, and proficient using interactive graphing and geometry software. She
introduced the concept of inquiry-based learning using a three act math task. Her students were very
receptive to this teaching approach.
Alicia is encouraged to continue motivating students to stay on task. Proofreading lessons, worksheets and
evaluations will help to minimize small errors. Her questioning techniques continued to improve throughout
this practicum.
With confidence, I can say that Alicia will be a tremendous asset to any school community. She is kind and
dedicated, approachable and confident. Alicia will be one of those teachers that truly makes a difference in
the lives of those she works with.
