The song Im using for my music video is Homecoming by Kanye West. I chose this because
it is a really good song and when I listen to it I think of many ideas. The idea that I chose to
do is when someone is returning to his hometown (Henley-On-Thames). He tells the one
person he used to love that hes coming home. He goes to places in his hometown for
memorabilia. Every now and then it cuts to the studio of me rapping and lip synching. Use of
slow motion will add to the effect of the video. Few clips of break dancing for effect. It was
voted on survey monkey that this was the best idea to use.

The content that Im going to use in my music video will work well because it relates well to
the song lyrics. The song is about Kanye West returning to his hometown Chicago and in my
music video Im going to film it as if the main person is returning to his hometown. I am going
to have dancing in it so it will look appealing to the viewers. I am going to use cutting to the
beat and a lot of other editing techniques. This will make the music video more professional
looking.
I am going to place the music video on the internet for example YouTube and announce it on
social media because my target audience use the internet and social media on a day to day
basis so they are most likely going to watch/listen to the music video/song on the internet
rather than CDs.

My music video will be in competition with all of the other big/well known rap artists like Jay
Z, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Tyga and many, many more. Drakes recent music video Hotline
Bling reached over 500,000,000 views on vevo. The music video has a slow beat (67 beats
per minute) which means the music video is slow paced and also has slow motion clips in it.
The majority of its sales were digitally downloaded. 41,000 copies were sold in the first week
of it being released. On October 4th it reached number 2 in the charts. Since February 2016
the song sold over 2 million copies in the United States and reached platinum certification 5
times. Homecoming by Kanye West also has a relatively slow beat which also gave me the
idea of using slow motion in my music video. The song got platinum certification in the
United States and had over 1,000,000 sales/shipments.
Music adverts are very effective when an artist is releasing a new
song or album. Depending on the target audience of the artist will
depend where they put their adverts. If the target audience is
teenagers and young adults then the artists would most likely post
their advert on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter because
the majority of teens and young adults are active on social media
therefore they are very likely to see it or hear it from a friend that has
seen it. Kanye Wests target audience is teenagers and young adults
and because of this I will market my song on social media mainly.
They stream their music online and watch it on YouTube so I will
release the song online as a digital copy. Before the release I will put
up a poster on social media saying the release date.
