Students Affairs, Mdm Nik Mahran Nik Mohd, Senior Assistant of
Co-curriculum, Mr. Mohd Maizani Mohd Ahdan, Heads of
Department, Heads of Unit, Excellent Performing Teachers,
fellow teachers and my beloved students. Today, English has no
lesser than 328 million speakers round the globe, making it the
third most used language after Spanish and Mandarin. However,
English is the official language of at least 53 countries, being the
most after Spanish, which is about 20 countries official
language. Therefore, the impact of the language has clearly
proven that English is very important for us to keep track with
worlds progress. In Malaysia, English is the second language,
which is the next official language after Bahasa Malaysia.
English has been a medium of conversation since the British era
till today. English has been taught in schools, colleges and of
course, in varsities. All in all, it is a language that all of us as
Malaysians, must upkeep so that we are able to compete in any
field of this era of modernization. So, it is our duty to learn more
about the language, to make others proud of who we are. Let us
all keep the spirit on going to learn English. With that, I thank
