1 Location of Ward
The ward office is located at Malad in western suburbs of Mumbai. Its boundary
extends from North Side - Goraswadi Road & Dattamandir Road, South Side Chincholi Bunder Road and Gen. Vaidya Marg, East Side Kurar Village West
Side Manori Madh.
1.2 Area and Divisions of Ward
The Ward covers an area of 19.13 square kilometres. The ward has industrial
estates at N.L. Road, Katch Pada Road, Valnai, Liberty Garden in West, Jitendra
Road and Khotkuma Road in east.
The approximate population of the ward is 561938 with an additional day-time
floating population of 1,00,000. The Ward is under the jurisdiction of D.C.P, Zone
IX. There is a Fire Brigade Station at Malvani, Marve Road. There is a western
Railway Stations at Malad and BEST bus depot at Malvani. The office of Civil
Defence located at Marve (I.N.S. Hamala). The ward comes under Malad
telephone exchange
1.3 Power stations/Electrical installations (receiving station)
There is a receiving station of TEC Power Station at Malvani, Marve Road, There
is a power generating station at Malvani, Marve Road.
1.4 Water Supply and Sanitation
The ward receives water supply twice a day. The timings are 8 A.M. to 12 midnight
The ward has open wells at 339 locations. There is a solid waste dumping site near
pumping station Mith Chowky P/North in the ward
There are Madh, Marve, Aksa, Malvani Village, Manori settlements not connected
by sewer lines.
1.5 Proposed Developments
Under the BMC development plan the proposed developments are market, school,
and Hospital.
