Introducing Unisab II version 2.05.1 and 2.05.2

Unisab II version 2.04.1 was introduced in Technical Information 2005/15 of 1 June 2005. As a
result of the ongoing development of the Unisab programs including new features and
corrections, the following versions are now released:
S

Version 2.05.1 -- After extensive testing this version was released for the following Frick
screw compressors on March 31st 2006:
SAB 193 S--L, SAB 233 S--L--E, SAB 283 S--L--E--X and SAB 355 S--L--E--X

Version 2.05.2 -- After further testing, this version was released on June 30th 2006 for
the complete screw compressor program including SAB 120 and SAB 151. This version
will show up in compressors from the beginning of October 2006.
Version 2.05.2 replaces versions 2.04.1 and 2.05.1.

The new versions will be introduced successively. When the Unisab II version 2.04.1 stock is
used up, version 2.05.2 will be used.
Version 2.05.2 is available on part numbers:

1571--088 including eproms, eeprom and PAL 4.0 systems

1571--089 including part no. 1571--088, Eprom tools and instruction.

EPROM sets shipped out after September 1st 2006 will be version 2.05.2.
Versions 2.05.1 and 2.05.2 are described below:

2.05.1
General remarks
S

Profibus communication has been updated for missing available values in previous
Unisab II versions. Parameters in picture for timers, diagnosis (especially COP),
calibrate and config. Note Service timers must be read via acyclic data.

Remote control of compressor capacity via the communication is now reset when
restarting Unisab II. It is therefore required that a central control system resends a
capacity command if Unisab II has been switched on/off.

The Eprom version is now shown in the communication with 4 digits instead of 3
(2051 instead of 205).

Previously, the Profibus GSD file parameter in the configuration was automatically set
at 08AA (Tiny protocol) as default at factory reset. This parameter now remains the
same when a factory reset is performed.
Please note that after the introduction of the Extended Profibus protocol in version
2.04.1, the previous Tiny protocol will not be updated in the future.

Screw compressors
S

New compressor type, Grasso, has been added. Automatic Vi is not supported.

New compressor types SAB193S -- SAB355X added. Among others, the following
safety functions are added: Liquid slugging, low oil separator temperature alarm,
insufficient main oil pressure, oil circuit pressure drop, separator velocity limiter
(capacity limitation) and DUAL port liquid injection HLI 2.

LIOC (Liquid injection oil cooling) with 4--20 mA output from Unisab II to analog valve
control.
Note: This is only supported on compressors without frequency controlled motors.

New compressor types SAB120S -- SAB151E added. These types are prepared, but
not yet released, for use.

SAB XXXHR compressors. The frequency of the frequency converter can now be
regulated by 4--20 mA output signal and not only via digital output 1 and 2.

The SAB XXXHR compressor timer start unload has been changed from default
15 to 0 seconds. This means that running overload is no longer displayed the first
15 seconds the compressor is running.

The motor current limitation for screw compressors has been changed.
The limiter neutral zone is now 5% of set point 1. It used to be 2%.

Economizer for screw compressors. Previously, there was a fixed neutral zone of 20%
from the capacity set point where the function should deactivate the solenoid valve.
This NZ can now be adjusted between 5--20%. The default value is 5%.

The slide max. timer is changed from max. 600 seconds to 3600 seconds. This is to
ensure that the slide has sufficient time to reach minimum capacity position after an
alarm stop in 100%. Particularly important for SAB 87--SAB 89 compressors and TDSH
compressors > TDSH 283/SAB 283.

The cap.negative timer has been changed. This will allow the capacity slide twice as
much time to move from mechanical minimum position to Electronic zero position at
start up. The factory setting has been changed from 10,000 to 5000.
Max. setting is 20,000 as before.

Reciprocating compressors
S

New reciprocating compressors, types 2I88.1 -- 16XC88.1 added (from Nantes).

These types are prepared, but not yet released, for use.

Total unload timer (T 12) is now visible in the timer list.

2.05.2
General remarks:
S

This version merges version 2.04.1 and 2.05.1 which means that all compressors
including the Frick line complete are now covered in one version.

Screw compressors
S

Compressor types SAB 120S -- SAB 151E have been tested and released for use.

Compressor types SABCube 109 -- SABCube 133 -- SABCube159 have been added
and released for use.

Separation of configuration PID=YES/NO for compressor regulation and oil cooling

respectively.

Unload assist is now introduced for Frick SAB 193 -- SAB 355 compressors.
The function helps separate the capacity and volume slides when capacity must be
reduced from 100%. The function reduces the time it takes to separate the slides.

Reciprocating compressors
No remarks
Known errors
When using the copy eeprom function, all timer values are reset at default values.
When using the 4--20 mA analog output function from Unisab II for a frequency converter to
control the speed of the compressor motor, the following problem occurs: When running in auto or
remote control mode, it is still possible to change the speed of the compressor motor with the
operating keys capacity up or capacity down. This should only be possible in manual control
mode.
All new alarms and warnings added in version 2.05.1 will not be transferred to connected SCADA
systems (Comsab II, RS2LAN or RADAR).
There is an error in the program. When using Unisab II on an S93 (stal unit) select a VMY Mk II
as compressor type instead and choose oil pump =YES and Booster=YES.
When controlling the frequency converter speed with 4--20 mA analog output to control either an
SABxxxHR or an FV24/26 compressor, there is an error when running in manual compressor
control: It is only possible to decrease speed, not to increase speed. There are no errors when
running in auto or remote control.
Documentation is covered by manual version 2.05.
