PSTs Worksheet

NAME: Kyle Hummel

DATE: 3/8/2016

STANDARD 1: Curriculum, Planning, and Assessment standard: Promotes the learning

and growth of all students by providing high quality and coherent instruction, designing
and administering authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student
performance and growth data, using this data to improve instruction, providing students
with constructive feedback on an on-going basis, and continuously refining learning
objectives.
INDICATOR _Analysis Indicator_: Analyzes data from assessments, draws conclusions,
and shares them appropriately.
EVIDENCE: (two)
1. Final Summary Reflection (3/4/16) Written paper reflecting on how I grew as a
teacher during my teaching episodes.
2. Video Analysis Reflection (3/4/16) Video taking of my 4th teaching episode. Video
was analysed and I wrote a summary about it.

DISCUSSION: (justify how each piece of evidence supported the standard)

1. The final summary paper supports standard 1 because I analyzed all of
my reflections, figured out how I grew as a teacher, how I can improve my
instruction for the students, and how I can be an overall better teacher.
2. The video summary supports standard 1 because I got to see myself
teach during the lesson. First I watched the video and reflected on my actions
and decisions as a teacher. Then I wrote a summary based on questions
provided.

STANDARD 2: Teaching all students

INDICATOR (B) Learning environment indicator: Creates and maintains a safe and
collaborative learning environment that values diversity and motivates students to take
academic risks, challenge themselves, and claim ownership of their learning.
EVIDENCE: (two)
1. Lesson Plan 2, Special Considerations Students need to know their personal ability
in water so they know if they can stay in the shallow end or the deep end.
2. SPO outcome for lesson plan #4: Give 4 examples of effective communication
he/she witnessed during todays games. (S5.H4.L2, Standard 3, Activity 2)

DISCUSSION: (justify how each piece of evidence supported the standard)

3. When a class is in a pool, safety is at a new high. Students must be able
to share their abilities without classroom judgement in order to have a safe and
positive learning environment.
4. This supports the standard because students are sharing positive things
that they saw and heard around the class. All students should be able to
challenge their comfort zone and give a peer a good word. Students must
sometimes not think about themselves when it comes to learning, but
demonstrate what they witnessed.
