Beginning Journal Entry 7 (Module 3)

What I would want to learn in Module 3 (University of Maryland University College,

2016).
After reviewing the Module 3 objectives (University of Maryland University College,

2016), I have a general idea of the topics that will be focused on and studied. Learning more
about the constructivist theory, community of inquiry, OCLs and social media aspects, that
are involved with the constructivist theory, sounds interesting. I consider myself fairly
involved with social media and I have seen how it has impacted present day human society,
so I agree that it should be a subject to analyze and discuss. If there are subjects or
information I would like to know more about, it is how social media is going to be portrayed
in this module and what is its role in a constructivist theory ideal. I do not specifically
remember studying in great detail about OCLs, so I am wondering how that differs from a
community of inquiry and what is their relation, if any, to each other. The Module 3
objectives (University of Maryland University College, 2016), appear to give a good, basic
idea of what I can expect to learn in this module.
I just reviewed Assignment 3 (University of Maryland University College, 2016), and I
am pleased that it is another chance to create a lesson and a rubric. I am curious to also know
if I will find more interest and perspective with the community of inquiry theory and OCLs,
and if I will be able to explain their involvement and relevance, if any, to Assignment 3
(University of Maryland University College, 2016). I am not exactly sure how to develop a

rubric with any of these theories yet, so I hope to be able to develop the knowledge and
ability to be able to construct one. Also, hopefully I will be able to represent the
constructivist, OCLs, community of inquiry theories and social media (if applicable) in this
module in a way that can make a valuable lesson while incorporating the other essential
educational components.
